    I've been Money Tipped!
Sending positive vibes and keeping crossed fingers Fuddle!
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

  • Fuddle lets get this straight, you are a great mum and wife, a champion OK :A Kids are always going to fall over and scrape knees, get their tights wet, get muddy etc, that is part of life and nothing is going to stop it and it doesn't mean you are not trying hard enough only way you could prevent it is carry her everywhere and that wouldn't do her much good nor your back. If they don't fall down in the snow, they kick it or throw it and it ends up going down their wellies, just normal kids.

Am sending him all the good vibes I can muster I promise.

You are doing all you can to keep bills low, so try to relax when you hear the boiler coming on and just think about how nice it is sitting in a warm house or just turn the thermostat down a notch if its really worrying you, but don't turn it off, being cold and worrying about money is not going to help anyone - remember they cannot cut you off, you have young children, ok that doesn't pay the bill, but its something that can be paid up over time - have you applied to you electric provider for the £120 heating allowance to be paid out in Feb/March next year, if not do so now.

You are a wise woman, think of all those woman you see out there at the school who are up to their eyes in debt and doing nothing about it, boy are they in for a wake up call, where as you are sorting things out now, ok money is tight, but you debts are not growing you are in control, but cut yourself some slack my friend, you really are doing great.

Take a deep breath and say to yourself, panicking will not make OH get the job or sort out problems, a clear head will. I know I suffered so badly from panic attacks that I ended up with agoraphobia for many years, took me years to beat them ( I treated it as a war my mind against me lol but I won). I found a dab of lavender essential oil on the pulse points of my wrists helped me calm down ( I used to put 10 drops of essential lavender oil in 25mls of grapeseed oil, but you can use any) I know it was partly mind over matter, I used the oil so I would calm down, but worked for me and helped me win the battle.

Sending you lots and lots of hugs, its an honour knowing you.

Brrrrrr absolutely freezing here today, but at least we have some sun, and looking on the bright side I don't think I'll have any trouble drying the washing today.

I took some casserole beef out of the freezer last night for dinner tonight and now I don't fancy a casserole. I can't eat curry or anything spicey at the moment as my very enlarged spleen is causing awful acid reflux and anything spicey makes it unbearable. It has to be cooked today as it was a woopsie, and I don't want to cook and refreeze as am trying to make some space in the freezer for Christmas - so any ideas ladies?

The cat is going mad this morning. She's not keen on the great outdoors at the best of times, being scared stiff of other cats, dogs, mice, noise, in fact most things really, and she won't go out at all if it is cold, hot, windy, or wet. So she has confined herself to barracks and is getting her exercise launching herself from the sofa back to the bookshelves, skating across the dining table and climbing up the radiator covers. She has even tried to jump on top of the TV set which is a thin LCD model so she ended up skimming the top and sailed right over and down the back of the rather tall cupboard the TV stands on  . Honestly she is worse than a toddler when she gets in this mood, you'd never know she is almost 7 years old, which I think is approaching middle age in humans *sigh*

DH is at a job interview today. We're hoping that he gets it because it comes with a van. It would mean we didn't need to worry about the upkeep of the car or affording petrol to get him to work. Positive vibes my way if you could be so good.

Really on edge today, feel a bit panicky. I need to calm myself down :(

Have fingers, toes, arms, and legs all crossed for you.....really hope he gets the job. Good luck!

  • How about doing the beef in a nice sauce - using some tinned tomatoes and tomato puree its something I do when I want something rich, I just add salt, pepper, onions, beef stock cube and veg stock cube. Sometimes I will add herbs other times no. Simple but really tasty, served with mash and what ever veggies you fancy. If you have a sc you can throw it in there.

Hi Catznine - I made gluten free pastry for the first time the other day and it was delicious, really light. I used Dove's Farm plain flour, goat's butter and water and would definitely make it that way again. My OH doesn't eat gluten or cow's dairy products. HTH

snow on the ground, compact hard. Kids feet freezing in wellies and smallest one fell and got snow down her wellies which resulted in wet tights. So stressed and frustrated! Sometimes it doesn't matter how hard I try, it's never good enough.

The heating is on and making me worry every time I hear the boiler come on.

Fuddle - you did not make it snow and freeze, you did not make your daughter fall down and get snow in her wellies. That has happened to every kid more than once. And it has nothing to do with you being "good enough".

It's only natural to be edgy cos of DH's interview. Get yourself a cuppa and a biccie and just sit for a bit love.

A Pie? Or just cooked very slowly in some gravy with separate mash and veg? My MIL used to do this in the bottom of her aga and called it "tender meat" - it was lovely!
