I can't remember which thread the mad pie ladies live in, is it this one? (I follow them all so they all get muddled in my mind.) If it is, Morrisons have got your "Fray Bentos Pies 475g (Excludes Mince & Onion)" on for £2 and BOGOF. No good for me as I'm vegan, but I thought I'd pass it on in case it's of any use.

That NZ news is crazy. I thought proprietary seeds were bad enough, but all seeds? Horrifying.

This NZ food story has got to be a wind up, surely?

If it is true then i'm sorry, they are barking bloody mad. WTH is the world coming to when you can't even grow a few veggies or swap seeds?!!!

I first saw it on a facebook comment from a friend of mine with a link to the youtube video and my response was the same as yours, MUST be a wind up, but a google search bought up the other two links. No-one would be happier than I would if it turned out to be rubbish, because the reality of it doesn't bear thinking about

Suzid - thinking of you x

We have the Human Rights Act governing us and I guess there would be something in there which would mean they were talking toss. I really cannot see that NZ would actually go ahead with this? Would they??!!!

I have rarely been to Tescos in the last few years. I dont like it and find the whole experience a nightmare. However, twice recently I have had little choice but to go there. Jesus, how expensive is it?!??!! More than Waitrose in certain things. I wanted a mozzerella and in Lidl it is 48p. In Tescos it was £1.70!:eek::eek: That was just one thing that stood out but there were plenty more. I really feel sorry for anyone who has little choice but to use them.

Oh and I managed 3 hours of Zumba on Friday night before my back packed up and we raised £4k for the local hospice so that was good. :T

I've done a search too and 5 pages came up - seems it really is true  They wouldn't dare do that here, surely?

It seems there is something similar in the USA - one woman posted on a forum that she was even nervous sharing her HM jam with a neighbour

    Shocking.

Welcome - if you want to read all the old 'tough' threads then you won't need to spend anything on other reading matter for, ooh, about a year:rotfl: But there is lots of good advice and support here so jump in - the water's lovely, even if we do keep an eye on the electricity bill
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

    Welcome stillstruggling :)

DH is off to get the tumble dryer. We've had enough. We've had the heating on all day today and still sat here 4 layers deep because all the heat is being hogged by drying towels. We also get £10 voucher because it's £100 (remember my father in-law and mother in-law gave us money for it) So our pooch gets his new bed for just £2 outlay :) the poor thing is lying on kitchen floor on a fleece blanket and that floor is so cold so chuffed we can do that for him.

Off to close the curtains and get all this washing off the radiators to actually get some heat into the house.

Chicken curry tonight. I have paid a little bit of money to buy in the relevent spices as want to make curry via spices and chopped tomatoes. I think in the long run it will be cheaper than jars of sauces.

Chin up all, keep on plodding on.... little donkey, little donkey, on the dusty road. I shall stop now before I crack up ;):D
  • Fuddle please don't beat up the mummy side of you - when I read about your little one falling in the snow I was envious you still have little ones to play with in the snow - mine are all grown. If they don't get wet then something has gone wrong!!!!!!!! you sound like a great mum! fingers crossed for the job

Dreadful news about the seeds in NZ - shall have to find some more reading about the whole thing in the US.
Grandma thanks for the squash info - shall try under cloches next year.

We have loads of snow and it just keeps on coming - only just got up the hill home in the car at 2pm today. Have changed my plans for tomorrow as more snow is forecast overnight, so shall work locally and stay safe

GQ good luck with the BM - I make my own by hand since my own bread maker took herself off to college :rotfl:

lol greyqueen. I too got a shock at the size of my freecycled BM - a lidl special buy originally, I found out through searching the make on the net.

Will you have room for it? I love my BM because the plastic casing gets all warm. I warm my hands and last year sidled up the mug tree up to it with hanging hat and gloves to get nice and warm. ;)
