Posting from isolation ward at children hospital, where dd6 has been admitted for menigitus. We caught it really quickly and she had drugs at gp surgery within an hour of rash showing up. Have had all sorts of drugs and needles at hospital and waiting on test results to see if rest of clan have to be treated.
Ambulance called by gp had all its bells and whistles so the class bear has a real adventure to put in his diary.
No money saving going on, its so expensive here, will be broke by end of it! :)

DD being very bratty and not at all her self but nurses are being kind and trying to coax her.

Byatt don't forget family fund for breaks and obviously the local council. You deserve it. Ginny I hope your dh is feeling better. Hugs to all x

Oh Kidcat, how awful for you and your family. I had a colleague with a daughter of similar age to yours - they too caught it quickly, although they had to take her to A&E themselves as the GP was not convinced. However thanks to mum's insistence on going to the hospital they caught it quite early and she made a complete recovery. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Kitcat:-Am sending lots of hugs and prayers to you. My DD2 had viral meningitis when she was 15, I know how frightening it can be. Hope she makes a quick recovery.:grouphug:

Byatt:- My Grandad was a medium and I learned about it in my twenties, I have often seen things but its easier not to talk about it in case people think you are strange. It's just a part of life.

Memory girl:- it will be great Enjoy yourself.

Gardinia:- I hope you feel better soon.

Katieowl:- How is your daughter doing?

Thanks for all your good wishes. It's been a fraught day! Mam was today's 'difficult' patient and would not stop bleeding! I finally got her home to mine at half seven. Food and chocolate later we both feel a lot better. I can see me being distracted tomorrow trying to keep three grandchildren from jumping on her!

Kidcat how kind of you to think of others while you are so frought with worry. I do hope your little one gets over it quickly. My DS had it at 26 and I ran all the way from my house to his in 2 minutes, even the ambulance men were shocked how fast I got there. It was frightening but his was viral and he recovered very quickly. Sounds like your Gp is good, unlike so many we hear of. Thinking of you and hope all goes well hugs xxx
