GreyQueen I swear on my stash of cake making ingredients, (and anyone who knows me will tell you how seriously I take that), that I sent Nurse off days ago with a flask of tea, some ham sandwiches and a tin of choc chunk banana cake for the journey. This was after I spent a week deprogramming her by making her watch Open All Hour reruns so she knows how to behave again. I'm just hoping she isn't channelling Granville instead of Nurse Gladys.
Let me know when she turns up please xxx

:rotfl:LMAO! I'm sure she's just got misplaced on the bypass and will be here any moment. I shall just have time to get the emergency locksmith out to change the locks and make sure that she can't get back in again..............I never doubted you, truly; who'd want to keep Nursie when they didn't have to?

Oooh all excitemented here as this week we have booked the registry office, the restaurant booked (who were touchingly pleased to be asked as it's not something they usually do) for the meal and the honeymoon (Centre Parcs with my parents having the kids for the first night then bringing them to us), just got the village hall and the ceilidh band to book now and we'll be all sorted! (Bar the all important frock and I have a plan for that!)

You're getting married!!! :T:T What is the date of this exciting event? Is it a buffet or sit down? And a ceilidh sounds perfect.

Have I missed something, or is it my swiss cheese brain forgetting.

    How exciting. :D

    Congratulation! :T
You sound very organised. I know we are OS but you don't have to get 'the knit a square' folk to sort the dress! Someone here is bound to be cultivating silk worms on their many Mulberry bushes. [STRIKE]We[/STRIKE] They are a versatile lot! :p

SDG:- I have a cunning plan, we will get GreyQueen to lob tomato tins at the polar bears while we make our escape. We will bribe her with your cake. :rotfl:

Katieowl:- Hope your DD is feeling a bit better, I think your 'keep her occupied' strategy is a good idea.

Since [STRIKE]it's make it up as we go along [/STRIKE]Budget Day money is on my mind.
I have been reading about the anniversary of the Japanese earthquake. Here's the thing...All these people lost their families, home, and jobs. Did all the people who they owed money to..Utilities/credit cards/ banks, just give up on their accounts. I know, it's a strange one. No homes to send bills to, never mind the compassion element. Or did they just treat them as defaulters and declare them bankrupt? What happened in New Orleans after Katrina? Most of those poor people still have no homes.
We all have our own burdens which are no less real than other folks, but we are fortunate compared to them. Most of us will never experience their level of despair, and can thank God for our mild climate. I know we can't fix the world's problems in our own individual way, but it does seem that sometimes while busy trying to fix/improve our own lot in life we lose sight of just how lucky we are. Not least in that we are not having to eat our pets in order to survive! Blimey!
Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”

    Morning Peeps

Got used to getting up at 5am and I got so much more done but now on these tablets I find it really difficult getting up before 9  On the plus side I managed to stain a couple of fence panels and the bits of the shed you can see so I was a tad whacked last night and used muscles I never thought I'd use again :D

SDG what a lovely idea thankyou, my mother is one of those you can never please and as soon as she goes I'm on the phone to Auntie C (her sister) to discuss what she has done this time.

When I first met hubby she told him I was after his money :eek: I have never ever ever used anyone for money in my life I have always earned my own so I don't know why she said it. Sorry, I just went into a lengthy tale of Mothers madness and decided just because she was coming to punish us today there is definitely no need for you all to suffer as well ;) Let to day go quickly and painlessly please.

Power is back on. I was amazed that in one of the double garages up the road half was a sub station  I don't think I would feel comfortable having that and parking my car next to it, not with my parking anyhow :rotfl::rotfl:

DS is on day three of work experience today. He rang last night to ask if I could collect him straight away of Friday as he finishes at dinner. The work placement his near his Dads and when I told him he would have to go back to his Dads to collect his stuff from there he was not amused but I agreed to collect him ASAP. I always knew he loved me more than his Dad although he will never say it ;)

Life is feeling more like a farm everyday, making butter and feeding the animals and I can say the house is most definitely calmer. The chooks are out all day and the cats are not bothered in the slightest, infact they make me laugh how they "tell you off" for not letting them out first thing in the morning.

Wedding?? did I hear Wedding??? save me some cake please.

Plan for rest of today, dog walk, B&*, Satan's visit, paint some more fence.

I can feel my tummy turning already, I am so jealous of people who look forward to their family visiting :(

Maybe the bus will break down :j

Katieowl, I have read 'Twopence to cross the Mersey' and most of her other books and I have to say they made a great impression on me. They should be required reading in schools as well as for the government. I know her parents were not aware of their rights when they lost everything but it still shows how one persons resolve can get them through anything.

PIC you poor thing, I know how you suffer with your Mother, I had 2 of OH's maiden aunts to contend with, they blackened my name for years yet I had to look after them right up until the day they died. They reckoned I forced OH to marry me as I had got pregnant - well Im a large lady but Im not an elephant as DS wasn't born till we had been married for 2 years :rotfl: Hope you get through the day unscathed x

I have my new greenhouse up at last so am off to organise it and get the compost warmed up ready for seed sewing. I asked OH if we could call it a conservatory as it is about 4 foot from the back door. So if you dont hear from me for a while you know where I am :T

PIC, you have my sympathy. My mum was the same; she blackened my name so much, relatives would have nothing to do with me. My niece was the only one who took my side, and was appalled at what was said about me. To this day she won't tell me what was said as it is so hurtful. Anyway, remember, it's not you, it's an "illness" your mum has and is probably from envy and jealousy. Once you realise there is nothng you can do to change her, even cutting off your right arm, you should hopefully not become so stressed about it or sad and let what she says become water off a ducks back. :A

My mother said something similar to my now ex, but I can't remember what it was anymore. Pity he didn't listen in my case! :rotfl::rotfl:

meme, that sounds a good plan! Although I love the polar bears, don't want to get too close.

ginny, I have greenhouse envy, enjoy!

Well, I tried out my electric blanket properly last night. Seriously I didn't know bliss was an electric blanket, you may have me waxing lyrical for some days about it. The warmth through my aching bones was heaven. :D I could totally relax instead of being curled up in strange positions trying not to touch the cold parts of the sheet.

Thanks guys. Had forgotten to mention it as TBH we've been engaged for the last 4 years! and 2 children later we're only just getting round to organising it.
Byatt, 2nd November is the day! Going to our fave Italian after for the meal, not a posh place (hence the being flattered as it's not usually something they do) but it is run by Italians and is good authentic Italian family food. Gets a bit fancier in the evenings but TBH we'd rather have good, simple peasant fare! Think we're going for antipasti, choice of 2 pasta's or pizza then panacotta, torte della nonna (lemon tart) or choc cake for pudding! Going to give them HM pie and peas in the evening!!! - Good dancing food!

On a less optimistic front, I await the budget with trepidation, need to see how it's going to affect us as OH is low earning and I'm at home with 2 kids (1 with disabilities). OH was brought up dyed in the wool blue but even he thinks this lot are a bunch of ...(deleted before the exclamation marks hit!) Mind you I was brought up a little left of Lenin and didn't reckon much to the last lot. Needless to say to ensure that we actually make the wedding, we don't talk politics in our house!!!!:rotfl:

Can anyone help me? I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing this thread with a totally random question but I've been wondering what's happened to Weezl74. She used to be so prolific in her writings and I haven't seen her write anything for ages. Can anyone solve the mystery for me please? Thanks muchly.
