    Womble is G-o-r-geous!

I never can understand anyone giving up on a pet/abandoning them. How could you look into those eyes and not feel your heart melt?

Thank goodness, PIC, you came along to rescue him. I'm sure you'll all be very happy together :T

SilvaSava - very glad you've got back on track again. Sounds like it's been a nightmare time.

Hugs to everyone else who wants or needs them. Spring has almost sprung...:T

The preferred poo flavour in this house is goose. Luckily, at just over 7 months old pup has not yet learned to !!!! his leg or enhance his attractiveness by rolling in the stuff as well. I'm hoping he won't take after a previous dog who once found a dungheap and rolled from top to bottom, squidging as she went. She was gloriously happy, I was horrified

Silvasava - glad to see there's light at the end of your tunnel.

    Evening everyone

Well we're on day two of the whole estate being ran on huge generators. The leccy is on and off on and off and still no sign of it being sorted.
    Say Hello to Womble

PIC - what a lovely little fella. He's so lucky to be in such a good caring home. Even though I'm a 'cat person' & I totally agree about the Puppy Farms 'cos there are some cat breeders who are in the same league.

We had a bit of a blow late last year - may have mentioned it. I rent out my mum's house (its my pension) & my tenant has been there for just over 5 years. Never a problem & at the end of November she just did a bunk leaving the place in a state. DH & I have been working there most days ever since to get it in a condition to be able to sell it. I was going to re-rent but its been such a hard slog for both of us I dont want to go through it again with another tenant.
Needless to say our income dropped by a third  & we were into our (arranged) overdraft in January & February while I frantically slashed & burned the budget where I could. I'm feeling somewhat happier now 'cos I've just done my sums & we'll be in credit at the end of this month (phew)
I couldn't have done it without everyone on this & a couple of other threads - you have all been so inspiring and supportive of each other that it made me feel so much more determined to make sure we managed within our restricted budget

    Thank you

Well done silvasava for dealing with a very difficult situation in a pragmatic and positive way. Hope you get a trouble free sale.

Relating to 'dirty dog' stories , I once placed a used potty on the stairs to take up and empty down the loo. When I turned round it was empty! our old dog looked very sheepish! Made me feel ill! _pale_

Silvasava:- good for you, it sounds like you have/are weathering a difficult situation. Hope it all goes well. :)

PIC:- the waves of Womble adoration are fairly bouncing around here! It sounds like he just fits in great with your ever growing household. :D

I am having an ironing day today as the mountain is threatening to breach the [STRIKE]holding cell [/STRIKE]cupboard. Have already put in an approved food order as they have half price delivery on today. Chest freezer went into the shed and works ok so I bought 15 packs of tortillas because I now have the space to keep them! :p Should have resisted the chocolate bars but that was a losing battle I'm afraid. Chances of losing weight before this wedding in April are receding swiftly! :(

Silva, I'm sorry your tenant let you down. It is such a shame these "rogue" tenants give the rest of us a bad name. The last place I left, it was immaculate. I had the carpets professionally cleaned, cleaned throughout, dry cleaned the curtains etc. I'm glad you have been able to be so positive and I have to say you are an inspiration to me. :A

meme, that's why I don't like being licked by dogs, not even my own!

Just paid for the $un holdiay, it's never as cheap as you think it will be with all the added extras of passes and bed linen etc. Plus there's only 2 of us so always a surcharge. Taking the dog too, but it's cheaper than having her dog sat. Not that we wouldn't take her. Still, hopefully a nice 5 day break in Cornwall in April. :)

PIC how old is Womble? I'm sure you said, but brain like a sieve!

Hugs to all those who feel like a hug. :A

    Morning campers!!

    Byatt - sounds lovely

Silva- hope your sale, sails through:)

Have just placed an approved food order, its taken me hours to do, first sifting through the site which is so un-user friendly, then getting it to accept my payment.
For anyone considering an order today to take advantage of the half price delivery, they have tinned chopped tomatoes 4 for £1, I havent been able to buy any for less than 33p per tin so thats a considerable saving (but shhh dont tell GQ - she will nab them all).

the thread seems very quiet these days, many fewer posts than normal. Have to confess, though, I'm skimming fairly quickly the posts relating to dogs' bad habits, makes me feel a bit_pale_
