Smiley;- :rotfl: Out of the window! Your poor Mam must have had a canary! :rotfl:
Byatt:- The only good thing about falling out of bed is that you don't suffer the embarrassment you would have had if you fell over in the street! How on earth do you turn yourself sideways?
Well scan day is here for DD. We will see if we have progressed beyond a sac and a yolk.....Like one of PIC's hens!
I am being left in charge of GDD2 while she and SIL go to hospital. I won't have time to fret, She will have me sitting in the garden [STRIKE]FREEZING![/STRIKE]supervising climbing/running /falling over, 'Grandma come back!' Still it's better than watching Nemo again. :rotfl:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
Smiley - gives a whole new meaning to the 'Sun shines out your ****'Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Good news, DD is officially pregnant with one baby, all looks well.
Relief all round. They both feel they can actually talk about their baby now, and Grandma can look at baby things!
Our family is big, so everything equipment wise is passed around the family as each nephew/niece is pregnant. Just worked out that we have four babies due in the family this year! :eek:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -

Congratulations Meme, and so glad DD is fine.
As for the falling; I do it in the street too! On my way to uni one day, and carrying a backpack full of library books, I fell flat on my face. I was weighed down by the books, and it was right in front of a group of marines (I was trying to walk by looking alluring :rotfl::D). I thought, shall I just lie here, maybe people won't notice. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Meme thats great news, glad all is ok.:)
Byatt did the marines rush to your aid? Ive done it often, worse was when I was carrying a guitar and it made a massive noise as I fell and I was outside a posh hairdressers and they all rushed to look :rotfl:
Got my greenhouse working and been for safe slug pellets and compost, plus a few seeds (of course). Also have a huge whoopsied piece of pork in the cooker - its making me faint with hunger
Smileyt can't wait to see you, will have to sort something out soon. Mail me and we can arrange it xClearing the junk to travel light

Did any of the hunks pick you up, dust you down and offer to carry your book bag home for you?
I'd heard in olden times a young lady might drop a dainty hankie so that a young gentleman might pick it up for her and thus have an excuse to speak to her directly.............don't think that would work in the Age of the Kleenex, tho...........:rotfl:I do that sort of thing, too. I once walked into a plate glass shop door when I was trying to look cool........not only is it soooo embarrassing, it hurts like billy-o, too.:o I've never felt quite safe in Accessorize since that day.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I fell flat on my face in the street once when it was a windy day whipping up some plastic bags from a pile of litter. One got under my feet and they're very slippery so down I went landing hard on my cheek bone. DH was with me and hauled me to my feet. Once he checked I wasn't seriously hurt he said "I hope you don't get a black eye, people might think I've been beating you up"
It was only because I was a bit shaken and not myself at the time that HE didn't end up with a black eye!!!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Ginny and GQ, yes they did, but I was so embarrassed, I rushed off saying I'm fine, I'm fine...as they kept saying are you sure, are you sure?! :rotfl::rotfl::D
If I dropped a hanky I probably would get fined for littering! :rotfl:0 -
Evening all....
Well trying to tidy up today - so you know it's officially a "day off" LOL. Have a B&B customer booked for Sat Night. DD said she'd iron, but was looking defeated with the s*dding 1000 thread count duvet...so I showed her how to fold it so you only iron the front. I was almost hysterical the first time I washed and ironed one, and nearly scrapped the idea of using them, but they have softened a little after lots of very hot washes and gallons of fabric softner.
I kidnapped the other DD's BF today and set him to work for me, he did a plumbing job that OH hasn't gotten around to, that needs to be done before the B&B season is in full swing, and then I set him to clearing the raised beds in the garden. I've told him I can't pay him for gardening, but if he comes and helps it will bump up the food production here and he and DD will get loads of it. We are taking over some of my friends up the roads raised beds too...since her husband walked out, she can't keep on top of it all, and he did most of the cooking and freezer processing anyway. I'll cross his palm with bit for the plumbing though. Getting him again tomorrow for more weeding and a tip run. He's put in a job application at the supermarket my other DD's BF works in (I know this is getting complex!) so everyone please cross everything so that he gets a job this time. It's only part time, and DD's BF has asked once again for more hours, but they said no. They only want to employ part time staff as they are cheaper to employ it makes me  there really SHOULD be a law against it...but I will be very happy to see both lads in work at all.
I keep telling all the kids that a part time job you can get by on, using all our frugal OS skills that we have passed on to them, actually gives you a lifestyle that lots of people would aspire to, but can't afford. Lots of free time to do what you will, as long as you have cheap/free hobbies.
I've just about finished "Twopence to cross the Mersey" and I can't recall much I've read recently that gave me as much rage on the poor girls behalf. Her mother was a beast!!! I'm kind of seeing my grandmother in the woman, so maybe she was a product of her/the age partly, although I think my GM would have been very scathing of the !!!!lessess of Helen's parents.
