Evening all - Mrs C well done, it does get very wearing towards the end, I know on our last move the last few days were the worst, I lost enthusiasm.
PAH- Having had similar experiences I now only store plates etc under the sink, the rationale being that I can always wash them if theres a leak.
Byatt - well done on looking into counselling, maybe instead of insisting couple have mediation when divorcing counselling should be mandatory
SDg - good luck with the blood test.
Have had a busy weekend with DD party yesterday, invited 36 kids but only 18 turned up, didnt get responses from most so catered for 30. DJ/entertainer was brilliant and kept kids well entertained.
House is still bombed from the preparations though and most stuff its not worth putting away properly as its DS party on Saturday. DD birthday is Thursday so am getting in gear for family dinner and rest then.
had trip to Trafford centre this evening as DD school shoes were falling apart and DD17 needed shoes for college too so took them both, consequently am now exhausted.
have begun making plans for DD 18th in Oct, and am hoping to book hall this week - guest list running to 150 at the moment so seriously need to get a grip on freezers and run empty by Sept to allow for cooking well in advance. Thinking doing small buffet, and serving large pots of chilli, curry and stew. Will leave me plenty of scope to do more elaborate desserts.
car finally sold and has gone - created upset for DS bt not as much as thought, I think the couple of weeks he had to get used to new car and idea of old one going did help but the saving grace was the brainwave I had just as he came home when car had gone - I handed him the old set of keys (key had broken in half so useless to new owner) keyrings included, exactly as they had been when we used them, he was thrilled and sleeps with them under his pillow.0 -
Byatt, that's a great compliment! I said pretty much the same thing last night to OH - I would have done well in the war
.
Tonight we had beans on toast followed by 4-year out-of-date christmas pud and 1 year out-of-date tinned custard :rotfl:.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -

Tonight we had beans on toast followed by 4-year out-of-date christmas pud and 1 year out-of-date tinned custard :rotfl:.They're mere striplings..........I've eaten a lot of stuff well past it's BBE and haven't taken any noticable harm yet. If you open the tin/ packet/ whatever, and it hasn't evolved the capacity for independant movement, it's probably safe to eat. If it reaches out and punches you in the eye, or breaks into song, you have a serious problem and should RUN.
I've only just warmed up after an early bath (your correspondant must be imagined in warm tartan jammies and with her hair in a bun.........On second thoughts, that's an unfair if truthful burden to place on you; have a helping of the Acme Mind Bleach on me, peeps:rotfl:) as I got soaked coming home this afternoon. Heavy, perishing rain, extremities went almost blue. Nowt got done on the allotmentino this weekend, but I have purchased my seed potatoes and will be setting them to chit any day now when the moon is in the correct phase and I can be bothered. I shall have to nip over the Hardup Hester's blog and check the lunar calendar to see whether we're waxing or waning as I'm never quite sure. There doesn't appear to be an online way of checking my CBA'd-ness; I monitor it personally on a day by day basis.
Have a lovely evening, all. GQ xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Wonderful moon out tonight xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Just sitting on the couch looking at it Molly, gorgeous, I do love the moon.0

Can't see it over my city; we're under rainclouds at the moment. It's described as "waxing gibbous" which sounds wonderful.........
I get quite bewitched by the moon. The best one I ever saw was on an winter's evening when I was biking to evening class; it was so huge it looked like a theatre backdrop, very low to the horizon and almost yellow. A clever friend once explained the moon's orbit to me with help from a diagram but I'm a bit dense and didn't grasp why it's sometimes closer to earth and appears humungous.
PS got a bit chilly and added argyle sox and a dressing-gown with teddies on it to my ensemble...........No sniggering at the back there, the dressing-gown was a c.s. find and I just had to lump the teddies. What is it with grown womens' nightwear; a helluva lot of it seems to have comedy-cute animals on it?
I mean, I am so not a comedy-cute-animal-person and some of mine has penguins, hearts and kittens on it. _pale_ And stupid slogans.............I dread being an inpatient in hospital again and having to wear such daft stuff in a semi-public environment. Still, I suppose it'd serve to amuse passers-by, and we all need more laffs in this world.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Started sowing the first of my crops over the weekend. Strawberries, Tomatoes, Leeks, Garlic and Thyme. I have loads more to do, this is just the beginning. I don't think I will bother with normal potatoes as we are a bit pushed for room and can't fit proper rows in, so I've decided to go for some of the speciality ones instead. I love the taste of home grown, just wish I had more room.
I'm planning to grow more flowers as well this year because I love them and keep buying them:o I absolutely love Sweet Peas, and have sown two varieties but think I'll do a few more. I have decided to go for the little plant plugs which I can grow on in the Greenhouse, it will save me loads in the long run. So I have around 60 double & single Petunias growing away and 20 mixed Geraniums.
On the downside 3 of my tree's have died, one which I don't know the name of but had lovely white flowers on it. 1 leylandii (not so bothered by that because I don't really like it) and my beautiful Bay Tree is Dead:( and I don't know why.Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Have to agree with you about the nightwear. I like something a bit more 'feminie/pretty' IFYKWIM. All I can seem to find is as you say the 'Cute' the 'Stripey' (all going the wrong way:( sort) the flowery thick 'wincy' sort or ''wouldn't wear in the garden (hidden) behind a screen'flowery' sort. I feel like I either have to select something a 10 year old might wear or the other extreme (not that I am any young thing;)) but if I ever had to be an inpatient again:eek: can't imagine what I would be wearing:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It definately would not be the slinky shorts and top thingy that I saw the other day:cool:Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin
