I love chickens- some folks rate swimming with dolphins but, I say they've never been digging with chickens or they would know nothing to beat it - specially when you put the spade in the soil and come up with three chooks balancing on the end of it! Is that a very large pot of tea for you that will serve 9 people or at 9 o'clock?0
-
nooo, it just takes a lot of tea to get me in gear for the day :rotfl:

One bucket or two Modom?0

Cough, splutter! I have just placed an order at Asda because they have offered me a free delivery code (you'd think they'd stop offering them to me as I only ever do an online shop when I get a free code!) and the equivalent order from October was £15 cheaper!
I've ordered 10kg of porridge and enough soya milk to last four months :rotfl:Well, I don't have a car so if they will lug it here for free who am I to say no? And me laddo eats porridge like it's going out of fashion so even that huge amount won't last long! Out of interest I think I am going to do their "10% cheaper" test to see if my shopping would have been cheaper elsewhere. If it is, I'll be claiming the difference for certain!
Hope everyone is having a good and as-pain-free-as-possible weekend. xxx
ETA Coo it's quiet in here tonight, innit? Is everyone out drinking? Lol!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Well the weather in Lincolnshire took a rapid downturn this morning so gardening and greenhouse going up didnt happen.
DD who is 4 wanted to snuggle up and watch Lady and the Tramp so who was i to argue.
Went to the market later on this afternoon.Grocers are a lot more generous when closing up for the day..so come away with lots of veggies to use up the next few days.3 bag fulls for just over £3..cant argue with that..also pushed the boat out a little as we went past the flower stall.Big Bouquets for £2..Lounge looks lovely a bright now
Stopped at the discount cash and carry on the way home..very much like approved foods.Box of 40 bags of Twiglets £2..Iams for the cats 59p a bag..and a big sack of potatoes for £4.
Early night tonight as car boot on in the morning if it doesnt rain over night..my dd often gets complimented on her lovely outfits.feel slightly smug that they dont know its more often than not cost me a £1 or less at car boot.
No response on the free-ads for our cars for sale..not sure what i was expecting so soon.DH car has been sat for a while and its half leather upholstery and the seats are covered with mould..ive really got to attack it next week.Any tips for removing mould-the seat belts are the worst?0 -
Enjoying the talk about camping and caravanning. Have never owned a caravan, but have enjoyed renting them for the odd week. But have always had a tent. In fact, I've just booked to go to Chippenham Folk Festival with mine, over the Jubilee weekend. I may be 70 and full of creaks, but I'm not ready to give up my tent yet!
Have got used to going by myself. DH and I used to take the tent off to France every year, but must admit that now I'm on my own I'm not that ambitious. Chippenham's only half an hour's drive away, so not too much of a challenge. But I do enjoy sitting outside enjoying the fresh air, also doing the cooking on my little stove. And lying in bed in the morning listening to the birds. Oh, can't wait! (And I love the music too of course!)
(Only downer is the usual long hike to the loos at 3am!)Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
I'm dying to get away from the landlocked midlands, we pack the car up every year and head somewhere with the tent. Shell Island in Wales was amazing, would love to head up to the Scottish Isles at some point but it's quite far for the littlies to travel.
I really envy everyone who lives near the sea, the worst part of holiday for me is leaving it and coming back. I don't particularly like where I live anyway, if I had the money I would be off to the north Cornish coast or scottish highlands in an instant and not look back.
Winchealsea, have you seen the pop up tents? They pop up and you peg them down, they look marvellous! I've never used one, ours is a frame and flysheet jobbie.0 -

Have you advertised on Gumtree and Preloved? If you are on facebook then there are selling pages on there too, especially for cars.
I'd be tempted to try a strong biological washing powder solution in hot water and see if that works on the mould, it will also help the smell.0 -
We woke up to heavy snow, been falling since 3 am according to the RV. It's wet snow though so wont last long, but its coming thick and fast. Chickens came out, took one look, screamed and ran back in.
I'm miffed Smiley that you get free delivery codes - I've never had one. Maybe because we're so far out? But I've had loads of online deliveries and never got anything free*sulking now*
Am also miffed still about the article promising gas & elect will go up for the next 10 years. Havent got mains gas here only Calor, but that goes up as well. Plotting how to cut down even more on elect. Oh and diesel, since I read that something like 60% of the price goes straight to the govt. :mad:0 -

Really? We have taken our two on long journeys since they were babes. DS was 2 and DD 4 when we took them to France - it was a 10 hour drive from Calais where we'd stayed. They've not been bothered. We stopped at services regularly that had playgrounds so they could stretch out and we have a DVD player in the back for them. They get a bit bored towards the end but nothing major.
It's no worse than flying a long way - probably better.
Am envious now cos we're not using the caravan much this year - I shouldn't be cos we are going to Paris at Easter and the United States in the summer!I wanna be in the room where it happens0
