Well have been so busy racing here there and everywhere today that I completely failed to notice that our car has sold!!:j
Am sharing Gaileys nightmare of no RSVPs so have no real idea of numbers for Sunday so am simply catering for full number to be safe.0 -
Well....... I dunno. LOL! I thought it was gallstones but the scan showed none, just a harmless polyp - and that they would now have to do more tests for hiatus hernia or ulcers. So I thought I would stay on the lowfat diet until they found whatever it is.
I'm currently existing on soup, chicken, and steamed veg and I am not a happy wee slug! With jelly and fruit to stop me losing the will to live. I just don't know what to eat at all. I don't like fish, or too many eggs, or cheese, or tomatoes, or too much salad.
I am seriously fedup LOL0 -
Hello everyone, thank you for the welcome!
I spent yesterday - making a spreadsheet of everything that was in my freezer and then compiling a monthly menu - and ordering the shopping online, in an effort to save some money this month because I lost my job.
All of this would have been great if we didnt order a takeaway last night or have lunch out today. Oops, need to get strict head on from now.
I also heard today that I have interview next week that would work well with my dropping DS at school - hoping that goes well, obviously!
As far as making sauces from scratch, I'm afraid I am one of those who hasnt ever - but that's because I'm a bit of a new cook - I'd always been terrible and had no confidence, but having DS kinda got me out of that habit. If anybody would like to share a pasta sauce recipe, I will gladly try it!
And as for ex's, I sah GAHHHH *SHAKES FIST*, I met up with one the other day, first time in a couple of years, and all he (before I discovered I was gay!) could do was talk incessantly about himself. I spent the whole time thinking 'what did I see in you'!

Well caravan season has started and we are off to sit in a field again! :j
We only get to do this when DH is off so we try to go as much as possible over the season. We have a tourer which is on a seasonal pitch on a working farm. My delight is watching 'round-up' the ewes and lambs charging across the field after the farmer on his Quad dispensing feed. Then the ordinary cows join in closely followed by the highland cattle! Add a couple of farm dogs and it just lifts your heart for the day!
We have always camped either in tents or caravans. It's such an escape. It's funny, I'm sitting here hugging myself with excitement!!!:rotfl:
Am sending my joy to everyone...not everyone's cup of tea I know, but want you all to feel as giggly/butterflyish/good as me.
Hey you go for it girl.!!....We live in the countryside and never take it for granted and always say to each other,"it dont get any better than this.", Despite our very bad health, im always happy out in the countryside ,breathing lovely fresh air, watching the wonderful wildlife, thankfully we dont have to camp. wet bum, hard ground,no running water, quick wee up the hedge , and having to wait ages for your kettle to boil on a slow stove....Enjoy...:D
On ready made sauses etc, Im not the best cook in the world in fact I hate cooking, I have to cook cos we have to eat, but if its something really easy that I can bung in the oven for 1 hour that will do me............ Id buy something easy than wanting to spend any amount of time in the kitchen, but when it comes to keeping the house immaculate, washing up to date, dusting, washing floors , anything like that im well up for it,its just that cooking is a pet hate of mine, and if I have to pay a bit more for the convieniences of not making my own then so be it, any case some of thoses sauses are really tasty.:D...............Been unwell for a few days , just starting to perk up a bit, so im on the net with the coal fire going tonight, dare not sit in a comfy chair do id be a sleep withing minuets.....:D0 -
There's a freebie in the freebie section for joining a butterfly group. Free membership for a year.
Just spoke to my DD, or she spoke to me, she blows me away with her in insight and perception. Being autistic, explaining her feelings and emotions has always been difficult, but she has come on in leaps and bounds and was so clear about how she felt and the triggers involved. She is light years ahead of ex and a lot of people I know.I really feel for her going through this pain again. He never fails to let her down, but each time I am hopeful he has changed, but not to be, sadly. It's not just about him dating, it's all the stuff he's promised her and the triggers.
2b, it's funny about ex's and the process called time; :rotfl:
Thanks Mrs C for the link.0 -

OOooh I can really feel your excitement! :j:j:j:j:jWe have a seasonal pitch too, in the New Forest. We go there as much as possible, a different kind of wild life to yours, ponies, donkeys, deers, squirrels and the occasional piggy. We love it! Nothing but peace and birdsong. Have a fabulous time!Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Which of the TV/famous chefs is the plainest and least frilly? Nothing puts me off more than looking at a recipe and seeing half a page of ingredients or pretenious garbage like "only use organic free range eggs and sun-dried pomodoro tomatoes and crushed wild lettuce". Gimme a break! :rotfl:
Not, as far as I know, a TV chef, but it might be worth looking at Sam Stern. Sam is a young lad (son of Prue?) who has written cookery books ostensibly with young boys in mind so they are unfussy, chuck-it-in-and-try-it type recipes, which seem to be fairly easy to follow. I have a couple of books for my son.My dad was famous for making faggots and peas
My butcher is selling faggots en croute - absolutely bloomin delishI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I think jars of sauce are ok if you like them and can afford them, although I usually cook from scratch, I do like to have a few in the stock cupboard for that really quickie dinner (otherwise I might get a takeaway, which would cost me alot more:eek:)
I prefer to cook from scratch because I have to be careful about ingredients. ( DH has a hiatus hernia and some small ulcers). So nothing too spicy or hot, peppers and chilli in general are out. However, I will get a few emergency jars if they are on offer and I try to find the least spicy/hot available:)Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

You don't make it easy! :rotfl: Fish is great, but I see you don't like that. yoghurt? baked custards - both sweet and savoury? rice puddings? porridge of course. Things like tofu are good - you can stir-fry them with your veggies to make very low fat and tasty dishes. Baked potatoes and beans? Do you eat tuna??? I know some people who don't like fish like tuna - it's meatier.
We don't eat it as it has egg white in but I understand quorn is very low fat and can substitute in sheps pie and such. Low fat mince might be ok too. When my daughter needed a low fat diet she was told that jaffa cakes were fairly low apparently, and if she missed chocolate low-fat diet bars might be tolerated. Jelly sweeties are low fat too!!!
Good luck!
