Baytt sending you lots and lots of love, head to fuddled to say more about what your going through just now as now been up 40hrs and still cannot sleep ( i go through these phases and even a sleeping tablet will not put me out, dr tried me on strongest she could give me safely and I shrugged it off so don't bother taking anything now). I will sleep when I sleep and until then it just feels weird, body feels as if its moving in slow motion. I told doctor I reckon if I had to have an op when if I was going through my awake time I don't think they would able to put me out, she said it would be an interesting experiment. I do have oposite times when I will sleep 2 or 3 days only waking a couple of times for bathroom and basically sleep waking and I try to force down some fluid but usually wake up very dyhydrated as cannot stay awake long enough to take more than a few sips and its as if digestion has shut down as more than that will not even go down.......so all balances out in the end, just makes for long boring nights as not much energy to do much..............
Hugs and love to allNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Scrabs - does make you wonder how many people are failed by NHS doesn't it. My mum was treated quickly, but it all wend diasterously down hill from there. Between her and MIL I have so many examples of terrible practices and ineptitude, it makes me fearful for anyone I know going in.
On the other hand, I have two relatives (one 54, one 33) who would most certainly be dead now without the care and attention they have received from two hospitals in opposite ends of the country, both in the last seven months, each in an emergency situation, so I am very grateful those hospitals and their associated ambulance staff were there, and that we didn't have to sell the house to pay for the treatment they needed.0 -
Well, couldn't get on here at all last night.
Am up early...I think I am excited about my App*oved food delivery!! I know, 'little things please little minds' :rotfl: Does anyone else find as they are getting older they are using more and more old fashioned phrases/ last week I confused both DD's by saying 'for two pins' They said "what pins?" Did feel really old but DH knew what I meant thank goodness
Byatt:- give them hell!
PAH:- Hope you are feeling better this morningGive us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
Ha Ha...this will make you laugh. Yesterday OH made me a cup of tea, it was so hot when I swigged it I couldn't swallow it and I burnt my mouth! I asked why the tea was so hot and he blamed it on the carton of long life milk I'd opened and put in the fridge, saying that it was so horrid that he didn't put much in as it ruined the taste of the tea!!!
Later when DS was in, OH offered to make me tea, I declined and made mention of the last cupDS said there's nothing wrong with the long life, I had it on cereal last night, it tastes fine? OH had another moan...so I gave him both barrels. Really? I said. You think this milk tastes funny? Has any of the other milk you've had recently tasted funny? BECAUSE YOU'VE been drinking it on and off for weeks!!! I've been pouring it in the milk cartons and you've not noticed AT ALL!!!! You've used at least 8 litres without a peep! :rotfl: OMG I wish I could send you all a picture of his face!!!

VJsmum good news about your dad. You must be getting old if the doctor looked 15 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I can say that cos I've reached that age too .... old enough to be their mother :rotfl:
Terrible isn't it :rotfl: He was very dishy though. In fact all the doctors have been rather dishy, very young and very good with dad. He is massive, my dad, 6'6 in his day and about 25 stone. so to hear this slip of a lad say he's had to have stern words and for dad to meekly agree is rather astonishing for us.He isn't in the clear yet, but is getting there. I think they want him better to get him on a different ward so they can get shot of him!
Very little snow here and the temperature looks set to be the heady heights of 7 on Sunday. Just keep thinking of Mardatha's plodding on for 3 more weeks. I can do that.
Have a good day all - and thanks again for the good wishes, it really meant a lot.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Morning all
VJSmum that's good news about your dad, I hope it all continues to go well.
PAH I hope you get some rest. I'm an insomniac, much worse when I have worries, but not on the scale you're talking about though I can empathise with how horrible not sleeping in general is. Hopefully things will begin to sort and your mind can rest.
Byatt I hope you can get things sorted, sending strong and positive thoughts your way.
Hugs to anyone else in need, I did good just remembering three people at this hour in the morning but have not intentionally left anyone out! Need coffee no.3!
Urgh, katieowl it must be catching, I just made a coffee, took a swig and almost burnt myself. Forgot to put the milk in! Glad you gave your OH what for, priceless :rotfl: Mine has not yet moaned about the Aldi loo roll, fingers crossed!
Well I spoke too soon and it has snowed here overnightWill be 'fun' getting the car out, though OH walked to the station and rang to say main roads look clearer. Got to do quite a bit of travel for work today. There's a blanket in the car but I may take our shovel, extra food and clothes just to be prepared.
Of course I am absolutely not thinking at all about the fact I *should* hear re the job today. Oh no, not at all. And I haven't been window shopping on ebay for power suits, no siree! :DNor have I browsed the ads for a suitable diesel car for the longer commute, nope, not me >whistles<
We had a lovely cosy evening in last night. Meant to be at a friend's for dinner later, if his hill is not too snowy to reach! Have felt incredibly tired this week. I'm still snivelling so no doubt my body is still fighting a bit with the cold I had. Looking forward to a loooong lie in tomorrow.
Hoe everyone has a good Friday!Proud to be a moneysaver0 -
Morning Peeps
What a kerfuffle with the site last night, glad it's all sorted now I was beginning to have seperation anxiety!
Very very wet this morning. And grey. And cold. Its hard to have any enthusiasm for they day when it is like this, snuggling seems such an attractive option.
Kate - How funny, I bet OH looked a bit sheepish after that!
Charis - Glad your relatives got good treatment, I know it is possible, but seems to be a terrible lottery and it shouldn't be.
Byatt - getting things down on paper will help you order your thoughts and give you time to consider the things you want to say.
Stay safe and warm today everyone!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Didn't sleep well either last night due to interview today. Kept waking thinking "check savings". So got up early and checked and contribution based JSA is not means tested. Think my subconscious was just looking for a reason not to go to the blooming appointment.
So, breakfast done and will be off shortly. No fresh snow and town pavements apparently clear so still no trial for Yaktrax:rotfl:
Perishing cold - wrap up warm and remember it's POETS day (P*** Off Early Tomorrow's Saturday) :T"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
Meant to say - did anyone else watch the BBC progs about animal intelligence (last night and night before). Quite astonishing, and well worth catching on the iplayer.
But I have always known there is far more going on in their heads than we gave credit for, only glad it's being proved now. Just wish it would mean we treat them with a bit more humanity.:(
Good luck GFN!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Morning all
tried to pop in last night to check if VJ's mum got home safely and the forum was broke glad to see you didn't get stranded! I have a good laugh with all the dishy young docs when we go to hospital with DS2 lol don't think any of them are over 30 and they're all handsome wotsits
is that a qualification to be a surgeon nowadays??
We have more snowconsidering it was going straight past London it got us good and proper!
Very icy on the roads too so will be glad when OH gets home in one piece, spare a thought for your posties in this weather
Byatt I second the carers centre if you have one they are a great support to us and can sometimes help you with which department to contact.I'm sorry to hear things are so stressy for you ATM X
GFN crossing bits for good news for you X
Elona yes I usually prefer to mix my own but can't resist some of the bargain sacks on AFoods lol.
Re the Icecream I bought an Easiyo Icecream maker for just those times and it has come in really handy and was only cheap from Lakelands
GQ I usually have a supply of corn in stock as it keeps incredibly well.I think its one of the things the LDS (mormons/latter day saints) suggest for long term food storage for just that reason
I love dried foodstuffs for storage, they take up little space and you always have stuff 'in stock' for that just in case moment!
Made an 8" mince pie last night and iced the top and a dozen jam tarts with some of my homemade raspberry jam and there's only 2 slices and jam tart left *gannets* :rotfl:so I'll be baking again today..fancy a bakewell or maybe a big fat jam rolypoly Yum
Stay safe if you're travelling peeps XX0
