PAH :- glad you got the man out. just shows you that you are not alone. Fingers crossed that forms get sorted quickly. :)

Baytt :- So sorry to hear that you are being so hassled by your DD's support team. They seem to be of the 'say a lot and blame a lot' but do Sweet Fanny Adams persuasion!

Sounds like you could do with one of your own!...That will be us then! Just reading the comments on here, people trying to help each other with tips and trying to boost spirits. It's really heart warming. (Ooops starting to sound like the Waltons! Will break out into Goodnight John-boy very soon!) :rotfl:

Ginnyknit will try the jam this weekend. Am presuming 200gms fruit and sugar will give about 2-300gms jam? Will hunt out jars tonight.

I too knew someone who went to hospital with a pain never to come home again. They were only young too. Having said that we couldn't fault the care they were given.

Scrabs - does make you wonder how many people are failed by NHS doesn't it. My mum was treated quickly, but it all wend diasterously down hill from there. Between her and MIL I have so many examples of terrible practices and ineptitude, it makes me fearful for anyone I know going in.

I have just been using my own ingredients to make the dough. Wonder if because I have a new oven the rolls are coming out more well done than they used to ages ago.

Had just spread contents of two large boxes on kitchen table to sort it out when youngest dd walked in

I turned pink and looked shifty and dh looked embarassed when she asked "Oh have you been to L*dl?" I realised I got four times the quantity of nan I had expected so have shoved loads in the freezer to smuggle out for curry night over the next weeks (months more like looking at the amount)

DH scoffing beef stew made in slow cooker, rolls are out of the oven and home made lamb burgers are finishing cooking.

I was going to make apple crumble but we don't have any ice cream. DH gave me a lift to shop earlier for fruit, veg, eggs and milk but I forgot we had used up the ice cream.

    Hugs to all

Evening all. i am back on the train racing the snow home.
Things are a bit more positive, dad is responding to treatment so assuming he continues he willbe moved back to a general ward tomorrow. i think he is a difficultt patient tho . the 15 year old doctor said he'd had stern words.
So fingers crossed and thanks all for the good wishes.

    PAH- excellent news :)

    Vjsmum- what a relief :)

Has anyone else had difficulty with forums this evening??

Am rather pleased, I ordered one of the free valentines cards from the site this week and it has arrived today, very good quality and I havent had to fight through the crowds, so a good result I feel. Sent link to DD and she has ordered her boyfriends in same way (very MSe as I would have to pay otherwise!) and then it struck me that if she sits with OH she can help him order my card in the same way using a different email address - making valentines a totally free day!!

Well, that was a long time not being able to get on the forums.

Decided to respond to support workers by letter. I need to get a few things off my chest and put in writing. Very upset and angry right now.

Did a long reply Mrs C but lost it all, so will write more in the morning!

Ooh we're back online, goody. Just in time to say goodnight!

Byatt just wanted to ask if there is a carers' organisation near you? Even if there is no practical help available, there might be other mums in a similar situation who can sympathise and lend some emotional support. It's worth a try.

VJsmum good news about your dad. You must be getting old if the doctor looked 15 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I can say that cos I've reached that age too .... old enough to be their mother :rotfl:

PAH your LA sounds like a nightmare. I hope the HA win their case on your behalf, and on behalf of all the other people it sounds like they've misinformed. It's nothing short of scandalous.

Well, I have downloaded another two library books onto my Kobo e-reader so if you don't hear from me for a week or so you'll know I am either in the 12th century or the 16th century ...... (I love historical fiction).

    Sleep well. xx
