Mrs Chip - If you put something else on the floor, does that get wet? A towel or some kitchen paper? Tis certainly odd.
I got my magimix today :T - I made biscuits. It's got so many doo dahs and oojemeflits and thingumebobs that it will take some time to learn how to work it. And does one really need to grate so much chocolate and parmesan that you need a special wotsit to do it with?
It was soup and pud night tonight - I will be eternally grateful to whoever came up with that. Soup was squash made with some that was chopped up in the freezer. But with 2 portions left over to go back for freezing, I don't think any space is saved. I can now open freezer drawers with no effort though - and close them again! HM apple crumble for pud - also from freezer. Made a while ago with apples a friend gave from her tree - so a very thrifty meal.
Economy news not good - double dip? Lets hope not. Debts of over £1 trillion - what is that? A million million? Or a thousand million? Is it more or less than a billion? How much would a trillion pound coins weigh? Hope they don't ask me for a bung - i'm borassic!:p Soup all round for a while yet, I fear.
A bit more upbeat today - have spoken to dad. He is still fed up, but still can't support his weight on his legs - they don't know why. He definitely didn't have a stroke though. He will be in a while yet so I am off on a train trip with my marking on Saturday visiting. Think I'm also more upbeat as am a bit busier at work - but not stupidly so. Ours is another department threatened with redundancies - don't think I'm at risk but who really knows?
I may have to go and find a hot water bottle - me tootsies are flippin freezin.
As Jack Warner used to say (blimey, am I that old? - It's GQ and her talk of ra ras and curly perms. Hey GQ you forgot Duran Duran!)
"Evening All"I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Well we can't rule out a manifestation, whether it be of ghosts or cats, but I do know it's not drips or rising damp, simply because {{{{ it moves with the rug:eek:}}}}Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
-
Mrs Chip What about putting an upside down bowl on it to see if it still gets wet underneath it? or the right way up to see if it gets any liquid in it? Or put some talc on it to see if you get foot prints or drips?
Whats the rug made of and what backing has it got on it?
Im intrigued, i do love a mystery.0 -
The rug is one of those soft cotton woven ones - with tassles each end and no backing.
There is only us two and the cat here, no way into the bathroom when the door is shut (for cats or anything else with a physical body:D).
The stain is always the same, in the same place on the rug. As I have moved it about on the floor, I am def ruling out any dripping, oozing or spraying.
I am sure it's something on the rug that dries out then absorbs moisture from the air (the bathroom is quite damp, no airbrick, so we leave the window cracked but its not a lot of good when its so wet outside) - but for the life of me cannot think how anything would hve got onto it. It will be a shame to wash it out :rotfl:, if it was in the shape of Jesus we could make a fortune!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Did my leccy and gas meter readings but have not calculated if they are good or bad yet as had a nasty financial surprise today - a bill I was expecting came in at double the amount I thought it would. I checked and it is right, darn it, so that's about £750 I've got to find when I was expecting about £360 ish . The unbudgeted bit will have to come out of savings so I'm going to have a good scout round to see what I can sell on fleabay to bump my account back up again. Could have done without this as car insurance is due in February as well."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

Mrs chip... How about a photo? Is it changing shape slowly to become an image of Jesus and make your fortune... Maybe if you just have faith0

Hi all :j
I'm an avid reader but only a very occasional poster to this thread.
I seem to think that someone on this thread posted a link to a site that helped people on low incomes with a rebate or something from energy suppliers such as Eon etc? I thought I'd made a note of it, but now can't find it & have trawled the thread with no success. It's not for me, but for my 83 yr old dad, so I'd be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. I did try on the Eon site, but nothing there seemed to fit, TIA if you can helpNew start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . That's it!! :TThank you very much Byatt - very much appreciated. I will see if I can fill in the form for Dad, as far as I know he has not had any help with his energy bills at all, can't even see where he had his cold weather payment this year! Maybe I am not looking properly, getting tired now so will check again tomorrow. I look after all his financials & have POA on his accounts so I can check them all out.New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 .
