    Are you sure Kate :D:D:D?

No, no oozing, the carpet underneath is perfectly dry. And as I have shifted the rug around, and the damp patch is the exact same size and shape and in the same place on the rug, I doubt it is a wandering drip. It is just weird!

How bizarre? And the carpet appears to be perfectly dry when you put it down?

Its hard not too worry and get stressed about it.

So I do understand where your coming from it is hard ,very hard some days.
Just try and take care of yourself in all this.

Yup, carpet underneath is dry, mat goes down dry and almost stainless, and over 24 hours the stain comes back and gets damper and damper!

Mr OG thinks that the 'thing' that used to make a cup swing on his welsh dresser has moved house!

So what used to happen to the carpet before you put the mat down? Any damp patches?

It could possibly be a condensation problem from water condensing on the ceiling & dripping slowly - but think you'd have noticed it before. Condensation in my house is a bit weird in that a thin strip of my bedroom wall often has water on it if the heating is on, but no water either side of this wet patch. No leaks anywhere as roof done a few years ago, just the same wet patch. Darn annoying isn't it.

Maybe you could try moving the mat to other rooms & see if the ghost follows it around the house :rotfl: Although if it does that would be weird!

Hugs to all of you worrying about benefit changes - worrying myself about being kicked off ESA after a truly bizarre medical. I'm expecting to be found not partially sighted enough to get benefits but partially sighted enough to not be allowed to drive & need adaptations to work.... Trying hard not to worry just yet, but it is difficult.

Lizzyb - thanks for posting about settings changes - really didn't like the squashed version so I've gone back to the old one (more OS :D).

Can anyone explain why when you are timing a dish in the oven it takes far longer to cook? My oven is always on the feisty side & often cremates food the moment my back is turned, yet tonight it is struggling to cook salmon & has been on for twice the time it usually is. Don't think it is on its way out as it does this from time to time - just being awkward....

Having early night tonight - feeling a bit rubbish & hope I feel better tomorrow.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

I too am wondering if it could be the ceiling. Some years ago I kept noticing a wet patch on my kitchen floor. I kept drying it up, but next day it was back. Finally, we realised that the seal around the bath, which is above the kitchen had perished and water was coming through everytime we had a shower. Could be worth a check to see if any pipes above are leaking.

Byatt Hope you feel better soon

Stillstruggling you need to get to a Citizens Advice Bureau and see if they can intervene with the bailiffs for you. Also ask them about Council Tax Benefit or tax credits if your husband is on minimum wage.

Hugs to you all, ladies. xx

:rotfl:Told you it was odd! No way is it anything dripping down, unless we have got spooky condensation that is following the rug around!:D

And the carpet underneat is totally dry, it does not get damp from the rug, or vice versa!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hygroscopy My next bestest suggestion is to look at this list and see if you can figure out if any of these have been spilt on it...but if you've washed it...I can't see how anything apart from some sort of oil would remain.

Have you got a cat flap? Could another moggie be coming in and marking...one with very diluted wee :rotfl:?

Maybe it's a ghost cat? Made the cup swing by brushing past, and does phantom widdle on the rug....
