its ok, I'll answer to anything :rotfl:

It is the latest Terry Pratchett, the title is Snuff . DS brought his HB copy out for me to read - he knows I only buy paperbacks because I read in bed and almost broke my nose once when I dozed off whilst reading a heavy book :D

Thank you. Wrong end of stick again :rotfl:

Thinking about it, I probably bought it for DH at Christmas.

Thought I'd found him a wonderful new author.

    Am getting old, senile, stupid......

Daughter and GD came today for a wee soap tutorial and we had fun - but after only two and a half hours I am SHATTERED! Imagine what it must be like for younger people with ME who are forced to work, I feel so very sorry for them. Am plonked back on my lovely comfy couch :)
Does anybody in here make CP soap? I know somebody does but forget who it is. If you're here please yell!
The co-op big store in Selkirk has a great sale on, and we want a new livroom carpet as this one is 15 years old but still in perfect nick cos it was a good one... I'm swithering because I might get on then need that money for something we really need. If you follow me :D
Re hair dye and punks, I stopped dyeing and am now a fetching shade of ash blond. But it looks boring, so I got hair mascara in violet. blue, and green.... family went  but now agree its cute, even the RV. Very subtle slight highlights in my fringe only. :D I look like a very mature art student LOL

Hi everyone. Still feeling a little worse for wear. Think I have to accept that I have some sort of lurgy and give into it.

I had a letter about my pension date this morning. I knew what it was going to be but seeing it in black and white, well...I have a further 5 years to go rather than the 18 months it should have been. Worse, I miss out by just 2 months. I should have been a spring baby not a summer one. :(

I miss out by a week and have to wait another 5 years because of it - so pension at 65 instead of 60 all for a week ( well 6 days actually). Hubby has to wait an extra 10 months and 15 days, very precise so will be nearly 66. They keep changing our dates so at this rate they will keep moving it so we never ever live long enough to officially reach pension age.....:(
Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

    Fashion on a ration coupon 2021 - 21 left

Mrs Chip, an oil based spillage on a mat may look as though its left but as it absorbs moisture from the air will continue to show through. Personally I would throw the mat out and replace it - if stain reappears I would start to worry then :)

    That really is gutting. :(

It just doesn't seem right. I know changes have to be made, but when you've not been prepared, it is very unfair. Yes, my date has changed too, it was 6 months earlier until the latest and I expect it to be changed again. They keep changing the goal posts.

I am planning on breaking out the Takeaway secret book tomorrow - what would people recommend for a first timer?

My vote is for the lamb doner. It's gorgeous! I have to keep to an ultra-low-fat diet so TTS is great for me. I can't eat any takeaways at all (I even have to adapt TTS recipes most of the time) and that book really helps when I want to be naughty :D

I have come up in huge hives - so big that they have joined together to form one big mega-hive - so I'm off to the pharmacy in a minute. It's probably nothing but I thought I'd better check it out in case it's a reaction to the antibiotics or something.

Katieowl - friendship is a two-way thing. Manipulators need people to 'prove' their love but if you stand your ground she will learn that she can't do it with you and she WILL change, in dealing with you at least. It takes two, really, the manipulator can only manipulate if people allow them to. It's horrible that these things have happened to her but she has to try and deal with things the best she can. She will carry on being lonely if she is allowed to behave this was as it will push new people away. I speak as someone who has suffered depression. It sounds harsh, but you have to be firm with her.

Oh, and NEVER lend money to friends. If you do, make sure you can afford to lose it permanently and that you love them enough not to mind that. Then consider it a bonus if you do actually get it back!

I sincerely don't believe that pensions will still be around when I am old enough to claim one... but it's reprehensible to move the goalposts so late when you have been promised this your entire working life.
