Yes, they most certainly do.

anoneemouse wrote: »It's a given that many people in any context "have their own agenda". This being the case though, then it would be interesting to see what you feel is the "hidden agenda" for "doom and gloom merchants".
Could you please explain what you perceive that to be?
No I would not, I'm afraid I'd have to make my profile private before I could do that :rotfl:... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Ohh, penny just dropped, Mardywotsit. The brown stuff hitting the orbital cooling device, yes?
Ragz Plenny of pasta on the premises, probably about 30 kilos, got it stashed in several different places but the BBE dates are 2013. Better not get mice in my gaff or they'd have a field day. Have got all tiled floors and there is so little space that I don't actually have undisturbed areas for critters to lurk in.I even had the bath panel off the other day for the plumber and made him leave it off so as I could vac under there. The joy of very small boxy homes is that there are very few places for beasties to hide and those are equipped with those spindly spiders (pod spiders?) which eat other critters.
Dunno why they don't bother me as I'm arachnophobic, but I can pick a pod spider out of the bath barehanded to save it.
Aha! LBM, gonna get some tinned coconut milk as they have it at 67p at the 99p Store which is worse than a few months ago when you could get it at 2 for 99p. I like it in curries sometimes.
Thinking on, thinking on..........
I can tell you why... Its because those spiders are our allies. They kill the big nasty ones that we fear.
Secondly, they don't do a sudden runner when you spot them, like other spiders do!!!
All spiders meet their maker shortly after they meet me but those spiders are welcomed.... altho I would never touch one
I salute your sheer bravery!!!0 -
also salutes GQ, any of "those" that i see either get a boot or a visit from the Vac!Nonny mouse and Proud!!
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience!!

I've just been looking for a good deal on my home insurance which is due soon. First thing I did was to check last year's premium against the renewal quote - IT HAS GONE UP BY 63%:eek::eek:
Sorry for shouting. But I've made no claims, no circumstances have altered and taking away the 15% introductory discount from last time still means an increase of 48%.
Needless to say this particular firm will not be getting my business this year. Well at least I hope they won't - depends on what the interweb produces."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
OMG - it is amazing!!!! :T:T:j:j
I am sat here in my kitchen and the light is as if i am sat in bright sunshine. Time will only tell if it has the desired effect but so far i'm lovin it. OH (who i thought would moan) now wants a couple more for lounge and bedroom!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I am impressed :T:T:T:T the NHS has worked here despite the much needed strikes - we need to stand up and be counted! We had to take Dd's OH to casualty earlier due to him rushing down stairs to answer the door and badly banging his hand on the baby gate. His hand swelled up like a blimp and had a splinter of 'possibly' bone sticking out. Despite his status as a 'man' ie a mardy bottom he was blatantly in real pain as he took a pain killer. Dd rang casualty first and very nicely asked if it was ok to come in and they said they were doing ok. Dropped him off - as he is terrible to wait with as he fidgets and an hour later he was x rayed bandaged up and off - severe soft tissue bruising. So I can still stand up and support the strike cos if Manchester can cope its a miracle - they can't cope normally!
Hope your DD's OH is feeling ok:D
I am an NHS worker and was working today to provide and run a unit that delivers emergency care. I agree strikes are needed but so is the obligation to deliver care to those that need it. The picket lines at my hospital were manned until about 9am then I assume the lack of staff manning them when passing the door meant they went to work or to London (40mins away) to march.
I did get a text from my sons school yesterday 1st one was a "gentle reminder of the strike today so no school" the 2nd was looking for volunteers to come and get the tombola prizes ready for the Christmas fair. I thought that they may have had some time today?:rotfl::rotfl:
Oh well yesterdays Budget Statement was not too depressing for myself and my circumstances although pay rise for an NHS worker will be 1% but at least I have a fairly secure job/career and just cut my cloth to my means as my mother used to say.
Sorted through my collected pressies from sales over the year and have realized that have minimal pressies to buy for DD & DS and have all that I need for family just need to make some home made bits to add to my chutneys and jams and am sorted, am very pleased with myself :j This is just as well as not too sure have enough to clear the bills this month as had to pay for some v expensive dental treatment last weekthis puts a new spin on no pain no gain was more like pain no money!
Will be an OS crimbo for sure but more like my mother used to do with making things with the kids for teachers etc always made me feel very excited especially the smell of homemade ginger bread yummy, I did also google "twinks":rotfl: Will be calling them something else and half dipping them in chocolate for crimbo pressies for friends as made a sample batch and they ar truley wonderous with a hot cup of scold.:)0 -

I love the smell of gingerbread but don't actually like ginger - I'm just weird! I think I'll make some shortbread and dip the ends in choc, might do some choc chip ones too.
any biscuit is good with a hot cup of scold - I presume that's tea!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
