Never under estimate chickens, mine undid their run door and sneaked down the garden behind me, first thing I knew was when they started whispering to each other - yes they can whisper - and i turned round and gave them a paddington hard stare to which they looked busy and helpful as if it was quite normal :rotfl:

I have now got the living room in total chaos, nets washed and on line :D hopefully still there when I go out, windows cleaned, tree is a lot bigger than I guessed but beautiful, even more of a bargain swopsie. Luckily Oh had gone for a nap otherwise he would have to sit on the tree cos theres no where else :rotfl:

I shall be organised one day; in a box underground by someone else, probably.

:rotfl: This is the only way I shall ever be organised too! Love it :rotfl:

Softstuff - those biccies sound yum & I shall try them next time I plan to cook.
my hair is standing on end reading about all the horrible bullying. Sending warm wishes and hugs to those who need it :)

Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe :)

I second all of this - my heart goes out to all of those trying to deal with bullying.

it had got to the point where I was going to cover it with a cloth and call it a table :o

What a genius! I will now have a surplus of tables...

PIC - I now have a lovely picture in my head of a chicken on the 'phone :rotfl:

We had lovely, proper monster snowflakes falling today - for all of 3 minutes, then the sun came out for a bit, then buckets of sleet. Can't make up its mind! I popped into Iceland to get a few bits, going around I thought I'd better get a few bobs too as I didn't think I'd be able to spend the £25 for free delivery - £63 later . Guess who will be doing the freezer shuffle tonight.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

I wonder what Santa is bringing me? I've been dropping hints about a staple gun but don't think my DH believes me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Right, must get myself moving. Have a good day all.

If you have a Lidl anywhere near I bought one from there on Monday with the rest of my hoard ( light, sheets, fire-guard, etc) Not taken it out the box yet but it says for wallpapering, fabric work and DIY woodwork, Hubby just looked at me when I picked it up and said what on earth do you want that for - first job is recovering dining chairs. It was either £5 or £5.99.

By special request of GQ, here are a couple of biccie recipes for Christmas (I didn't dare refuse her, I can imagine how she is when she's short of sugar and it takes a braver person than me to stand in her way lol!)

    Fruit Mincemeat Drops

These are ridiculously fast and easy, freeze well and keep for up to a week. Yes they are and very more-ish, freeze them, you mean they can actually last long enough to cool enough to go in freeze mmm something wrong, must have done something wrong, here as soon as cool enough to hold were gone - more by hubby than me honest mrs.

    Spiced Christmas Cookies

    Hope that helps someone.
Yep helps me to ahem grow my assets another more-rish recipe

If we couldn't get out between now and Christmas we do have enough to cope, but would run out of fresh milk, and do still have a couple of presents to buy, but hoping to do another stock cupboard shop next week, actually got a delivery booked from Mr S for 21st, still not sure if I will take it but wanted to get the slot just in case. Also I can get far more of their basics range online, store only sells a few and I like most of them, except the baked beans.

Must make sure I do have everything by 23rd as this year we treated ourselves to tickets to see It's a wonderful Life which is showing at a theatre in the city on Christmas Eve - love that film but never seen it on the big screen before. Old but not that old to have seen it when it did the rounds in cinemas and as hubby is working in the morning, he will come home have something to eat and then we will be off out - am hoping i feel up to us having meal out afterwards, would just finish the outing off nicely. Lucky hubby gets paid on 22nd so don't need to keep money aside from this week for the meal.....just wondering if I should book somewhere. Not done anything like this for many years so really looking forward to it, long time since hubby and I went out on a date:rotfl:

People ever cease to amaze me, I attended a meeting at DS school today which was a general meeting to discuss current LEA provision, I went to raise my concerns and was hoping that it would be documented somewhere and I was greeted by three sets of parents, one I had never met, all from DS class, all had come to support us and make their unhappiness with events known. I was stunned, I needed to say very little as they said it all, from the parent complaining at how upset he was when his son cried that my DS had been locked in a room alone all afternoon, to the parent who were there yesterday when I witnessed the events on the yard. We then went off for coffee together and have agreed that united we will stand and that its obvious teacher has been attempting to divide and conquer. We are now going to meet regularly to keep upto date with current happenings - and have swapped numbers to keep in touch :)

Thanks very much PAH - I might just "happen" to need him to take me to Lidl's at the weekend. Hope they have some left by then.

Kidkat, that's great. How warming that these people were willing to stand up and be counted on behalf of your DS. More power to yer elbow honey.

Oh that is fantastic news, hopefully now the school realise they cannot pretend it didn't happen they will do something about it, I know its not sorted yet, but the relief you must feel knowing they cannot just ignore you as a neurotic mum must be great, and you feeling happier will be felt by your son as well and hopefully help him deal with the awfulness. I hadn't realised your son had been locked in a room on his own all afternoon after the attack, that is disgraceful, and something i hope you will be addressing, maybe on the lines of social services might need to look at the schools dealing with whom they perceive as naughty as anything could have happened to him while alone.

It sounds as if the school needs a rather through examination of its practises...........

Can't do much to help I know but if positive thoughts can help you have them from me to help you get everything sorted and son is no longer bullied.

That is great news. If anything at all it is a support network for you ut I feel that the school establishment will have no choice to listen, and now act. No child should be alone in a room. Did they have an explanation for that at all?

There was a little pay rise for DH's job too we have found out today :) I'm so very proud of him, he showed what an asset he was even with the dyslexia frittering away in his head and losing him his concentration.

I have instructed the good old DH not to throw away his old work jumpers. They will be keeping me toasty under my coat in horrid weather - no one will see :rotfl: And also I will have to get a winter survival kit for his van - that will go down well :rotfl:
