If you're unsure, call them and ask. But I can't see that it will - given that they're the ones who missed the delivery and you shouldn't be in a worse off position due to a breach on their part.
If its not possible to slice it open with scissors/knife and then repackage with tape, ask them to send another one out FOC (if they wont pick up without it) and if they're unwilling, remind them of the above - that you should not be in a worse off position due to their breach.
Don't be afraid to be firm with companies - not demanding, but firm - and polite obviously. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
My mattress has arrived. It has a black mark in it and the zip removable cover is broken. They have offered me 10% refund. They have said i could have still slept on my old mattrress which was in the re ycling bag.
Is this acceptable? Having missed two delivery dates? Emails and phone calls? 9 day delay?0 -
No it's not acceptable, so why not cancel and go elsewhere.0

This for me:No it's not acceptable, so why not cancel and go elsewhere.
But only you can decide if it's worth having 10% back, or completely cancel and go elsewhere.0 -
I bought a gaming console from Argos through eBay and when the product came, it was broken, I have been in contact with Argos and I feel like compensation is in need. How much money should I ask for compensation?0

You can ask for whatever you want but the simple answer is that you will get what you are entitled to, namely a refund.0 -
As has been said, you are entitled to a refund. What would you think you need compensation for?0

Hi there, I'm after some advice really. I bought a Google Chromecast stick from Argos but when the delivery arrived (which I signed for in good faith) the bag was empty. Argos are investigating but I wondered if this has happened to anyone else buying small items from Argos?0
