I'm a regular customer of mAmazon's but am starting to look at using other companies instead due to a run of late deliveries recently.

In the past 3 months I have made 10 orders, 4 to amazon market sellers and 6 from amazon themselves.

Without fail all 4 orders from the market have arrived very quickly (longest took 2 days) and all orders from amazon themselsves have arrived late.

It looks to me like amazon are trying to push people towards Prime by slowing up deliveries.

I contacted Customer Services today after a second failed delivery.

Customer Services told me they do provide any compensation even though I explained that I had to take extra time off work and had suffered loss.

I will be following this up with their UK office....

Ordered from Amazon. Received confirmation of dispatch e-mail and tracking from carrier Yodel. Item was due to be delivered on a Saturday 17th of Nov. Tracking info showed 'consignee could not be reached at 9:50am. No way did Yodel even try to deliver.

Telephoned Yodel on Monday morning was told that they would re-deliver that day. They didn't. More of the same on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Yodel said "common sense tells you that if you're expecting a delivery you need to be in for it". That's a cheek !!

Amazon don't give a damn. Complained to them on Wednesday and got a standard response saying how wonderful they are and Yodel was wonderful etc etc they went on to say they would send me another item. However if the first turned up I needed to refuse delivery or post it back to them. Then they credited £3 to my account as a good will gesture for the inconvenience caused - 3 quid ? I went f**king mental and told 'em to stick it.

I used a holiday to be in for them on Tuesday. I had to run round Wednesday inbetween meetings looking for a replacement Item as I really needed it for today. It cost £10 more to buy in a store.

To top it off the Item I ordered from Amazon was left outside this morning by the main door in the wet.

  • Ordered a few things from Amazon last week, including a watch worth £100. Apparently it was delivered to a neighbour on Thursday by Yodel, except they left no calling card so I've no idea which neighbour has it (nor did I realise there had been a delivery until I checked my order status today). I've spoken to my immediate next door neighbours and neither say they have signed for it, so I'll have to ring Yodel on Monday to see if they can find out which number it was left at.

A bit annoyed that they haven't left a card, I've gone through all my mail received this week to make sure I didn't miss the card (1 card from RM and Parcelforce, but not Yodel), and spoken to my friend who popped in on Thursday to walk the dog - she didn't see any calling card. When checking the tracking status on the website it says 'Package left with neighbour at' but it's not been filled in properly. I do speak to the people on my street, but only to say hello, so I don't know their surnames. In future I'll just get things delivered to my oh's work, wish I'd done it this time but didn't think there'd be a problem. To be fair, I've not had this issue before with Yodel - just find them a bit rubbish compared to DPD (who text a timeslot) or Parcelforce (who drop off at the post office).

I am concerned that whichever neighbour has it hasn't attempted to drop it off - but then again, they might be waiting for us to knock. We've been in all today, and will be tomorrow aswell, so fingers crossed it appears.

You have no contract with Yodel, call Amazon and get them to sort it out.

I've just spent hours looking for somewhere else to buy something because its Amazon or another store that uses Yodel are the only one who supply it.

Ended up having to use an outsourced Amazon seller who claims to send by Royal Mail - lets hope it turns up!
  • I contacted Amazon via the online chat last night - they offered to resend the order, but I said I'd speak to Yodel first. Got an e-mail later from the rep I'd chatted to, which confirmed the number of the house it was delivered to - one of the neighbours I've already spoken to who says they haven't accepted it. That there was no delivery card makes me inclined to believe my neighbour. Amazon have said they've contacted Yodel and will get back to me in one business day, but have made reassurances that they will redeliver the package if Yodel can't find the package. I was surprised how quickly Amazon offered to resend the items - it kind of makes me think they're used to this happening? Either way I've got a dodgy neighbour or a dodgy Yodel driver...it's hard to know which...

Yodel did this to us about this time last year - at least once they'd marked it delivered or marked it "you weren't in, we left a card" when they clearly hadn't at all. I'd suspect Yodel's handing procedures over your neighbour lying about having it.
  • Had 3 deliveries from yodel. One of them, I was in at the time - the guy rings my doorbell and by the time I get to the door he is already driving off and the package is on the floor outside my house. The other 2 times it was thrown over my 6ft fence into the back garden and left out in the rain. One of these times it was towels in a waterproof bag so I didn't get too annoyed. The second time it was a £200 speaker system which had spent the day in the rain and the impact of it hitting the concrete had damaged the box.

Well amazon sent another one out straight away by UPS and wanted to use yodel to pick up the damaged item. I told them I work during the week and even if I did take a day off I don't have faith in yodel and would expect compensation if they failed to pick it up. So amazon agreed I could send it back by Royal Mail and that they would refund the money.

I like amazon, I hate yodel and will have to stop using them until they ditch yodel. I also cancelled an order from Gap today as they had a 25% discount on all orders but when I learned they use yodel I told them to cancel it.

Ordered some blu-rays for a birthday present for someone else. When I ordered, it said that the order would be sent out in one package, rather than sending it out piece by piece as it was picked, as it was standard delivery. I got another e-mail shortly after I ordered saying they were now going to split the order up, as some of the order was ready to send out earlier than the rest of it and this would be 'quicker' for me. I got a dispatch note for 1 blu-ray that evening and then another for the other 2 blu-rays the next day.

The 2 blu-rays sent out second have arrived, but the one of it's own has not. Phoned Amazon and they told me all they could do was resend the order and it hadn't been long enough to do that, even though it is now past the expected delivery date. So if it is lost the new one will arrive too late for this birthday. It's really frustrating because if they resent one now, it probably would arrive in time.

I thought it could be because of the flooding, but then realised that the ones that were sent second arrived before the flooding started happening :(

Previous thing I ordered from Amazon was missing 4 out of 5 items, admittedly it was only cheap lampshades, but I did need all 5. Eventually got a second lamp shade from them, but still waiting on 3 or them. Have had several e-mails that don't make any sense, had one call back where they said they were going to check some things and call back but the never did.

This has all been via Royal Mail. Previous dealings with Amazon have been much easier, I hope I have just been unlucky recently.
So so SO tired of being ripped off, and mislead
    Hope sharing saves some pain.
