I pay exactly £10 per month...
3 bed house 1 adult npower price protector....However, my annual usage in kWh does not reflect the monthly direct debit accurately in any way. My annual bill is closer to £400.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Without knowing how you heat and provide hot water in your house, how well insulated the property is, and how warm you like it, the figures are pretty academic.
There is no 'average cost'. Though there are average consumption figure for gas and electricity, which are widely quoted on here.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The average cost varies really widely across the year and as macman said, without information about the property and how you use your fuel nobody can really provide an estimate.
For what it's worth, for comparison, I live with another adult in a 1 bedroom flat, ground floor, most windows double-glazed but not all. New-ish boiler (not a jacketed one), standard radiators in most rooms. Gas hob but electric oven, lights are mostly energy saving bulbs, electricity use is probably fairly high as we both have powerful computers. We only have the heating on 2-3 hours a day at most and we manually turn it on and off so we know when it's on.
Our winter gas costs come out at £35-£40 per month, while summer costs can go as low as £10-£15 as we don't turn the heating on at all. That summer gas use is for gas hob cooking and heating shower water for 2 adults. After several arguments with British Gas we've gone on to the tariff where you enter meter readings every month and can manually change the DD amount, which as we have a credit of £50 is currently running at £30 per month.
Electricity is pretty much the same throughout the year, cost of leaving lights on (especially energy saving ones) for a few extra hours is negligible compared to the cost of using toasters, hairdryers, hair straighteners and of course the electric grill and oven, we're paying £40 per month for that and we're paying about the right amount. Cookers and things don't really get used any more in winter than in summer.0 -
Are you in any debt £65 a month is much lower than us in 3 bedroom semi with 4 adults (2 grown up kids) and we use a log burner to supplement heating. You usage and not how much you pay is far more relevant
1920's semi on a hill loft insulation and no cavity walls
We pay £112 for both with BG and not in debt
My usage 25/10 to 25/11 is as follows
gas 1071 kWh and we dont have GHC every night and is much lower than last year which was 1801 kWh
electric 456 kWh last year it was 474kWh0 -

You might as well ask, 'what does it cost you to run your car per year'? Which would of course depend on it's fuel economy, how much you pay for fuel, and how far you drive each year.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I can't imagine how (if you have gas CH and DHW and paying £120pm) then you can have an electricity DD of the same amount? How can you use 14,400kWh per year if not used for heating or hot water? That's over 4 times the national average. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

i pay £82 per month on electric and £65 per month on gas , both on prepayment meters. but in summer gas is virtually nil maybe £5 per month0

What's DHW?
We don't pay by DD, we pay fortnightly with payment cards.
We're with British Gas for gas and Scottish Power for Elec.
We have a back boiler which I know costs a bomb to run.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
