Tiglet wrote:As I understand it, there are three components to a contract: an offer, acceptance and consideration (i.e. payment). That usually means that there's no contract until you pay up.
However, I don't know how this works in the case of a system that is designed to work on credit. The contract has to exist at some point before they send out the goods, otherwise you could just collect your order and then claim that there's no contract.
As posted earlier:
LXDirect T&C's say:
"3.2 Whilst it is our intention to keep our website up to date and error free, product description or pricing errors may occur. If we discover such an error after you have submitted an order to us, we will contact you prior to accepting your order with the correct details. You may then either cancel your order or re-confirm it based on the correct information. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order as cancelled."
Not sure what "prior to accepting your order" actually means? Does an e-mail confirmation count as an accepting an order?

Been looking for a cheaper laptop to take with me when I'm traveling so I wouldn't be so worried about it getting damaged/nicked
Ordered one of these. I tired the 20% off code for new customers but it doesn't seem to have taken effect, not too bothered. Remeber 6% Quidco

Just ordered one and used the wifes Littlewoods code; buy now pay nothing till September 07 and then 52 weeks interest free. Delivery by 20th Feb.0

It would be up to the small claims court for 'loss of a bargain' what they would interpret as a contract. Although it would be nice to have one at that price, it would surely weaken any case if no confirmation and or any monies taken out.0

Cracks me up whenever we see a misprice on here...
1. Everyone wades in.
2. Some wade in for LOTS (Ebayers)
3. Everyone takes screen scrapes.
4. Lots ask about the legal standing.
5. All the armchair lawyers get flushed out.
6. Order gets cancelled (SURPRISE, SURPRISE)
7. Much bullahaloo....a lot of noise about Trading Standards
8. Everyone moves onto the next misprice.....return to step 1!
*but* you gotta be innit to winnit...I placed an order for the £149 lappy too!0 -
my orders been accepted0

If they know about this, and given the amount of ordered accumulating then why the hell are they not dealing with the problem by nipping it at the bud and either removing the product/correcting the prices.
Seems ridiculous that they're still on there in plain light of day with drastic errors.0
