Maybe I didn't word it properly?
Considering you say you rarely do the school run or mix with the other mums you have managed to form a negative view of them. Why be so damning of the coffee group that you've never attended? Referring to someone as Queen Bee smacks of jealousy.0 -

Like I said I've got no interest in attending a coffee morning. Never have, never will! That doesn't mean I'm unfriendly!! It just means I don't think I have anything in common with a group of women who just happen to be at the same school as me.
As for the jealousy remark I'm totally lost on that one. Are you saying I'm jealous that I'm not 'queen bee'?? Really???0 -
Can't understand why the OP thought it worthy of posting that she picked her child up from school ... isn't it just something you either do ... or don't do? Aren't people cliquey in the factory canteen as well?0

Ahhh the 4x4 mums, because suburban london can be like driving through the jungle :rotfl:
I really think it's a class thing. In my posh bit of london I used to pass a prep school each morning at 8.30 and the roads would be heaving, the sun glinting off all those perfectly waxed bmw bonnets was blinding! But in the midlands where I lived? No! Tis just a sea of prams and families *gasp* walking to school.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

You'll never know whether you have something in common with them, I can't understand why you'd assume you wouldn't have and that they just talk about children. To be honest, the more I read I don't think your jealous but I do think you feel a bit superior.0 -
Funnily enough when I was doing the school run for DD I felt really left out and didn't really talk to anyone.
Now doing same school run for DS and really have made some good friends, part time work means I'm not there all the time.
Chances are I wouldn't be friends with them if not for school but I've made friends at work that I probably wouldn't otherwise have known.Kate short for Bob.

That's 91 hours a year you could have stayed in bed!
Id have to if I had no make up on :rotfl:
The 15 mins includes straightening my hair. About half on each.0 -
With the oldest's school run, all the mums just sit in their cars and get wound up because the road is so busy - its quite scary. I dread trying to squeeze past.
Luckily he takes the bus now so I'm spared the road rageThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

Actually, I think it might be a car seat thing...
These days its the law that you have to have properly fitted booster seats up to a certain height or age 11 (is that right?) so parents who have more than 2 kids are going to need a car with more than 2 proper seatbelts in the back.0
