Advice on a fiction book for a 9 year old girl

I would recommend how to survive summer camp by Jacqueline Wilson, not risque at all, or a famous five book. At the age of 9 my daughter loved those, as well as horrible histories and mallory towers.0

I loved the Anne of Green Gables series. Or if she's more into fantasy then Alan Garner.
I second the above suggestion of the Little House on the Prairie series, but if you find them cheap can you let me know, I've been wanting to re read them for ages but not want to spend a lot!
The Narnia books are great too.
Or if you want something a bit different then look for abridged versions of classics, I read loads of them when I was 9.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

The Worst Witch series by Jill Murphy is ideal reading for girls aged 8 and over." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I have ordered David Walliams set of books from the book people for my soon to be 9 year old, apparently they are very good.0

The Chronicles of Prydain by Llloyd Alexander has just been reissued.
A fantastic set of books. I much preferred these to the Narnia books as a child. The complete set is about £18 on Amazon. The highest praise I can give these books is that they got me addicted to reading and they have had the same influence on other young family members through the years both male and female.0 -
My girls love The Wheel on the School by Meindert DeJong.
I read this at school and guessed they would like it!0 -

Highly recommend the Weirdstone in particular if she likes fantasy stories.Whatever0 -
Another fan of Alan Garner here - The Weirdstone has not been out of print in 50 years - shows what a good book it is. We used to love our mum reading this, the Moon of Gomrath and Elidor to us and my own boys enjoyed them too.
Also a thumbs up for the 'Little House' books
As another suggestion, how about the Molly Moon series?Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game0
