I found what I needed in Asda in the end, on the same display as cake decorations, food colouring etc. Now I'm going to try making peppermint creams in chocolate to serve after Xmas dinner0

Lemon twists
100g ready roll icing
1tsp lemon juice
grsted rind of one lemon
yellow food colouring
icing sugar to dust
knead icing with lemon juice,rind and colouring
roll out to long thin sausage
cut into about 20 peices

roll into apple shapes
press clove in stalk up and
dust with caster sugar
strawberries
colour red
make strawberry shapes
