Thanks for the tip... will check out local Lidl in person to see if they're at my local yet.
think something is up with the Lidl website.... to look at the special offers, the website asks for your postcode, but at the moment it just spews you back to the homepage.0 -
Hi All,
Wonder if anyone has a recommendation for me? I'm after a mini-greenhouse. My garden is too small to fit a real one. The best I've found so far is on Amazon (see link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gardman-Compact-Walk-Greenhouse-Shelving/dp/B000288D2C/ref=sr_1_9/202-3261165-4628625?ie=UTF8&s=outdoors&qid=1187701995&sr=1-9)
I'm fairly new to gardening but I am now hooked & want to grow plants from seed (my window sills are full!). Anyone know any better?
Thanks!0 -
We've got one a bit smaller than that. We have got a growbag on the bottom shelf with two tomato plants and some chilli in, while the tomatoes were small we used the upper shelves for seedlings. They're now out in the garden as there strong enough to be planted out. We've taken the cover off and the tomatoes have it all to themselves now. Not doing great but I don't think the weather this year has exactly helped
Anyway - highly recommended for a small garden, should serve you well0 -
this one is cheaper at argos if they have it in stock near you.

i have used a 4 tier greenhouse found it very useful to grow stuff in it.0 -
Ive got a little one that I found in the sale at woolies, its been great, but I have tied it to the fence as they blow away easily.Always on the hunt for a bargain0

Morrisons supermarkets usually get these in early spring and they usually cost around £20.
You'll need ground pegs to stake it down.I wish you......
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.0 -
I just bought this one: http://www.littlewoodsdirect.com/rf/lxd/navigation/product.do?Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&SNtt=mini+greenhouse&groupId=390703211Ν=this_product&SNtk=littlewoods_search&Np=1&SN=85+101&Ntt=390703211&D=390703211&Ntk=group_search&Dx=mode%2bmatchall&thisprod=390703211&N=85+101&Nty=1&Mis_item_id=15&Mis_item_loc_id=1&product=390703211
You can probably find codes on hot deals or the codes forum to bring the price down quite a bit.
They can't be posted here.
hmm... intriguing.0 -
Thanks everyone!
I think I'll go with the Argos one for now, that price is excellent. I want one I can stand & work in if it rains. Hopefully one day I'll be able to fit a real one somewhere in the garden...0 -
BEWARE!
The plastic on these is very succeptible to UV degredation (sunlight) and if you leave it out all year, the clear polythene WILL DISINTEGRATE leaving you with a mesh tent (the green reinforcement is a little more sun-resistant due to the green pigment which protects the polymer).
Although this "greenhouse" seems like a cheap and handy option, buying one a year will add to your growing expenses and throwing one away per year is hardly green.0
