So we went out for dinner last night, My goal to lose 11lbs looks like it's turning into putting on 11lbs!!
This weekend is a write off because of OH's birthday, but will be good next week and do exercise to make up for it.

Hope we are staying in tonight, i need a night at home, We've got the new pirates of the caribean movie to watch.

    Not much else to report.

    Morning everyone

Overcast and dull here but dry at the moment. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, veg and gravy. Made a loaf of HM bread, I've just started to make the dough in the BM then finishing off by hand, I get much better results that way, loaf is much bigger and the bread lighter and it takes less time and electric, but you have to do a bit of manual kneading etc - but I quite enjoy that! Haven't got a firm idea of what tonight's dinner will be as menu plan wasn't done last week, so will try to put something together without the need to visit a shop/SM. Need a bit of inspiration to be honest.

Now on days off so will be doing all the normal chores, want to get the pile of ironing out the way and have 1 load finished in the WM to get dry, may just put that in the TD to get it done and out of the way - possibly have 2 more loads to do then our bedding - want to get that changed today too. Hoping to get all the chores done so I can then check through and wrap the xmas prezzies already bought and put away so I can then get a clear picture of where I'm up to. I know I still have quite a bit to do and I have a rough idea of what to get for those I haven't bought for yet, but not too worried as have a week's holiday 5, 6 and 7 December so am intending to get all that sorted and finished in that week.

Need to crack on otherwise I'll be on here all day.

Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

    Morning All,

    Lovely story Jackie O
JG Healing positive Vibes for you and your family

We got married in the local register office too then a family meal in the evening. My DH is not at all religious. It was June 1985 and freezing cold. I wore a powder blue silk suit, size 10 (couldn't get one leg in it now:eek:) Best decision I ever made. Love him to bits and still fancy him like mad:o. I agree it really doesn't matter how you do it, it's your day as long as the two of you are happy nothing else matters.

Need to pop to the bank again today and will have a quick mooch around the shops.
Quick tea tonight as we have a review with DS3 English teacher. I suspect it's a what if meeting, what if he doesn't manage a C. We will see.
Need to do some washing today, kitchen is a bit upside down with the fridge freezer in the middle of the floor but as my DH says, you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs:D
Have a good Thursday whatever your up to.

  • Morning All!

Just want to send everyone good/positive vibes and hugs to everyone that needs them.

JackieO, your story was wonderful, I love seeing older couples looking like they are still as much in love with each other as when they first met. I suppose because everyone dreams that will be them.

Islandmaid, it is perfectly normal to feel that way about your pets. I have lost a few pets over the years and even now, I get upset thinking about them. They really are part of the family.

I had a long day at work, but thankfully it went well and I am now finished. Just had soup for dinner and am absolutely stuffed but I am still craving chocolate, or something sweet. The past weeks have been terrible, I have turned into a bottomless pit for anything with sugar in it. :o All my good intentions for eating healthy and loosing weight have gone out the window.

I decided to start my scarf I was knitting again. It started off really tight, and further on I got, the looser it became, to the point that it would have just looked ridiculous if i wore it. Can that count as money saving, if you make keep making something out of the same lot of yarn? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope everyone has an excellent day and wraps up warm. Its freezing here.

    morning!

didn't get time to read yesterdays thread so hope everyone is well.

(((hugs))) to JackieG, Lou and all in need

Woke up with another headache but hopefully the pills will shift it.

Bramble - weddings - we too got married in a resister office, I wore a nice suit from a catalogue and only our parents and a friend were there as witnesses. Afterwards we went back to my Nans house for a mini reception where other family members were waiting. My boss gave us a 2 tier wedding cake as a present(I worked in a bakery:D)
We went out for a steak meal at a local pub that night - just the 2 of us and later in the year we had a week in a caravan in Wales.

I'm not a fan of big expensive weddings - hate being the centre of attention - and having my photo took.

OS - have had a quick 'swish' round in the words of Redruby:D

Am off cleaning now at the ladys house who is in America atm then off to collect DS before coming home for lunch, taking him to work and visiting Mum's elderly friend. Busy Busy Busy here!

Not a clue whats for dinner yet so will need some inspiration!

Have a great day all x

    Morning all

Dark here this morning, feels like proper winter now :(

I found out last night that my ex colleague who has the brain tumour was rushed into hospital on Tues and is in intensive care :( He had his 2nd op to remove part of the tumour whilst I was away and was let out on the weekend. He apparently was bleeding so was rushed in. But I've heard that he is doing slightly better today, so finger's crossed.

I've got a million and one things on my to do list but I can't see me getting them done! Need to sort a few things for the weekend, off to Birmingham with the girls :). I also need to book a meal for us all as my friend is back from Canada soon. And I need to sort out my laptop as it keeps freezing .

OS wise - LO HM curry for lunch, WM will go on later

    Have a good day all

Morning all! :grouphug: to those who need cheering up xxx

Treated myself to a little lie-in this morning, I'm finding it harder and harder to get up now the mornings are so much darker and colder.

DH is off to London for a few days so I'm looking forward to a little me time. Tonight I'm going to have one of my manic cooking sessions as I'm running low on HM frozen ready meals. Going to make huge pot of chilli, bolognaise and shepherds pie style filling tonight and tomorrow night I'm going to cook some curries and chinese style chicken meals. Makes life so much easier just pulling summat out of the freezer for tea each morning.

Then I plan an early night, curled up with the cats watching tv in bed.

Hope you all have a lovely day, take care xxxx

    morning all

feeling awful. chest infection has made a reappearance along with tosillitis and laryngitis so feeling very sorry for myself :o my voice disappearing has been a blessing for hubby and my friend :o:rotfl:

still trying to eat mainly soup and smoothies but still end up choking on them and then i cant breathe :o i am asthmatic but it only normally really bothers me when it is really hot or high pollen count. it didnt bother me this summer but paying for it now :o

so dosed up and hoping for sleep and lots of today :o

ETA BBird. i find the drive from junc 12 to 13 the longest and most boring thing ever! lol

  • Lou it's not cheap but can you send H or your friend on a shopping trip for skme manuka honey? something with a rating of 10+ should do the trick. Take a tsp full once a day. It's fantastic stuff for sore throats, chest infections etc. You can get it from health food shops and I think Sainsburys sell it although I dont think it's a 10+ variety.

Sorry not read the thread yet, feeling sad today. Mums pooch Jemma wouldn't walk properly yesterday and despite a trip to the vets and a massive pain killing injection she can't walk at all today. Mums phoned me in tears, I've got upset. She's 16 years old which is blooming good for a Labrador but doesn't really make it any easier. The vet can't do anything more for her, she's riddled with arthritis and I do think rainbow bridge is calling her. Just sad as she's the last of the pair of labs that my parents had, I was still living at home with H when they came so they still feel part of my family. Mum going to try and speak to vet she saw last night but honestly not holding out much hope :(

Today will be a tidying day. House looks like s tip, BM needs to go on, put the vac round etc.

    Hugs and spoons all round.
