Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.

It's a shame that they only do Clubcard points on the aluminium cans recycled (eg 2 aluminium cans = 1 point) because that isn't really much of an incentive to store all your recycled waste (eg. plastic containers, ordinary tins, glass etc) and drive a few miles or more to the nearest Tesco Recycle Centre to recycle it all.

I completely agree and I bet they still get paid for the plastic etc.

I fed in a load of glass and plastic into the recycling machine at Pitsea today but I only got 1 point - for 2 aluminium lager cans. I think that's the only thing they are still giving points for. Luckily our local council kerbside collection takes glass and plastic every 2 weeks.
If people are desperate enough to cut a plastic bottle in half for an extra clubcard point, I'd b****y well give it to them! :-)

Saw a couple recently at the Tesco Recycling Centre in Aylesbury who had a basket full of aluminium cans that they had cut up into thin strips to try and get more points.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for the rest of us) the machine only gave him a few points rather than the 100s he was expecting to get.

Is there a limit to how many aluminium cans you can recycle at any time?

I was well chuffed yesterday, after mentioning to OH about saving his cans, he came back from work with some, he had walked down an alley and actually collected some out of a bin for me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Maybe I should send him out and about with a shopping trolley :D I haven't seen anyone collecting them for years :rotfl:

There is a recyling point at Telford too.
Why can't Tesco's update their website properly, I am sure more people would recycle their cans to collect points if they knew about it.

Does anyone know if the large beer cans might possibly count as 2 normal cans if they were cut in half?
I'm sure more people would also recycle if they started accepting plastic again...for points of course :D

I have had problems re my keyfob not being accepted at the recycling machine Ayr a new one and lost out on 10 points.
I rang the help line and they told me I should have gone straight to customer services and asked for the ponit to be added but how can you possibly prove that you have put in 10 points worth of alliminimun cans? The thought of traipsing back to there when you have just left in this weather especially as you cannot prove what has just happened is not one I want. The fob works in store ok it is just the recycling machine dosentreggister on.
Has this happened to any one else I am having a new fob sent out so will see if it works.
