What's your most unnecessary/useless piece of kitchen equipment?

  • I find most of it unnecessary. Every time I take my parents somewhere they buy me kitchen equipment and I can't stand it! "Oo, you need a potato peeler", "No thanks I'll use the knife", "oh well you need a toasting rack", "uh-uh, just the tongs".

  • I am in love with my Food Processor, Slow cooker,Stick Blender.
I have an Icecream maker which I only used once, and I have a Ice Lolly maker. I plan to get the ZOKU one so I can easily produce Lollies.

mortar - you were nearly there :)

Why can't you use it - is it not robust/substantial enough?

Lol its about 2 inch wide!!!! BUT, i did use it once to crush the cats worming tablets up in!!!!!

Have also got a pampered chef sandwich cutter thing, that i moaned for for yonks and never use lol, typical woman !!!!!! xxx
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea
  • I finally got rid of my sandwich toaster - old-school low-fi sort of kitchen gadget, just never used it (and it was incredibly heavy and bulky). I want one of those George Foreman grills - does anyone use theirs?

My favourite kitchen gadgets are totally basic - a lemon zester that looks a bit like a tiny knuckleduster, and an apple slicer. I slice apples with the glee of a five-year-old :)

    No ridiculous question/joke.
I am just a someone who loves cooking and loves cooking on the right equipment. For me it is as essential as good ingredients and a worthwhile investment.

Most useless-all the little accessories you get with gadgets, they just sit in the cupboard gathering dust/grease until taken out to be washed and put back in,like the different bowls and blades I got with my magimix

I thought that was what they're meant for?? I have a similar size pestle and mortar bought for crushing tablets/pills (my dog's incidentally).
