You are quite right. I generally only do things like ham&cheese, beef&pickle. It would be no use for runnier fillings. Nothing worse than "raw" toast, is there?

    Nothing at all :(
I use the Formby for panini's as well, they are beautiful cooked on there.

OH wasn't impressed with the potato ricer I bought the other week but now he's tried riced mash he's sold hehe.

Yes, I do like paninis done on it too. My favourite is proscuitto, mozzarello & tomato. I have not had one for ages. You've started me off now :)

lolol. I'm not wanting a sandwich toaster. Anyone want a juicer in exchange for a sandwich toaster? :D
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

My late mother bought me a blow torch, which I assume is used for TV chef style cooking. I haven't even opened the package.

    I bought a chopper:

    http://www.4yourkitchen.co.uk/judge-onion-chopper.ir?price1=10.00&price2=30.00&priceDesc=%A310-30

It works, but it is a pain to clean, and since I bought some Global knives, I can cut onions in no time. Global knives, or any equally good knife, get my vote for best kitchen 'gadget'.

I also bought an anodised baking tray, which is supposed to be non stick, but it isn't, and you have to be careful what you clean it with. Mine is encrusted with burnt on gunk. So these get my vote of no confidence. I wish I had instead bought a stainless steel baking tray.

There are so many pointless gadgets. Fancy coffee makers seem silly to me when a stove top device makes brilliant coffee. Those boiling water taps cost £1000 when a kettle works fine for me.

    Sandwich toaster

    Used once.

The mess it makes far outweighs the delicious toasties.

I dont mind cleaning but when cheese melts into all the hinges, nooks and crannies... eugh

Iv seen some people that let them fester and crust over but mmmm no thanks

Il prob keep it in the cupboard another decade before finally throwing in the bin

May I suggest a panini grill? I thought it would be another useless kitchen gadget but it gets used loads for sandwiches!! Non-stick flat plates just mean you wipe and put away. Fantastic!!

hmmmm i think we should set up a swap shop.

    I want the candyfloss maker...

Errm, if I can find it!! Lol!! I think it's behind a lot of other "not so useless but still rarely used" gadgets!

And to whoever said it was the OP who had it, it wasn't, it was me. :j
