It was £5.99 today, but I know it used to be £3.99 last year:eek::eek:I might try the Ameretto:beer::beer:

The £5.99 is for a luxury version, i paid £3.99 2 weeks ago for the normal version....
  • I really like Southern comfort but have never been able to find a cheap alternative. I'd really apreciate it if some one knew of one :) We have Tesco, Sainsburys & Lidl local to us.

    Great thread op

LIDL's does a cheap version of this. Can't remember the name of it, deep south, or something like that? It's about £10/11 for 75cl.
  • I like LIDL's bourbon that they do for just over £10. Very drinkable.

  • I seem to write this quite regularly this time of year.

Baileys is made with Whiskey and is 17% Alcohol, some cheaper ones use whisky and wine and is usually 14% which is why it is cheaper. However there are some Baileys equivalents that are made with whiskey/whisky (and are 17%) and are quite well priced.

I think the (17%) Aldi and Lidl Baileys-alikes are about £7 for a 700ml bottle this year!

I also noticed Lidl has an Advocaat that is 20%, normal Warninks Advocaat is 17% and cheap Advocaat is usually 14%. Top suggestion is to make a snowball but instead of Lemonade use Cream Soda (Morrisons do a good one that doesn't contain horrible artificial sweeteners), it's very tasty :)

Lidl do something called like lion? It's bourbon I think and it's really good. If it's not on the shelf at my local someone will always be nagging a member of staff to go find them a few bottles.
Lidl's fake martini is pretty good with some lemonade added, I like both the very dry and sweet one- just as good as brands.
Lidl does some brilliant red wines as well, erm I like a SA cabernet sauvignon for ~£4. Same price as Blossom Hill but much nicer. And their Leiberfraumich(basically looks dirt cheap with cherubs on the bottle!) is okay, less than £3 and a very sweet wine. Arguably the sweetness over powers the cheap wine meth after kick but I don't think it's too bad for the price, tastes just like chateau neblahlah after a few glasses ;)

    Hi,

I know your talking about spirits, but I can recommend Grapevine Merlot at Aldi, £2.99 a bottle.

Stay away from Lidl's 'Queen Margot' whisky unless you want a bad hangover the next day.I,like my Dad before me,like a wee dram but I've never had as bad a hangover than with drinking that stuff.
Sainsbury's have a great offer on at the mo,1l Bells for £13..Unfortunatly the new Sainsbury's in Bangor doesn't have an offie as f:mad:ing Tesco's objected! So the nearest one with an offie is 16 miles away, which doesn't make it much of an offer...

Anyway,Lidl's Graffenwalder Pils beer (79p a tin) is the dogs danglies & spot on,just like the stuff we used to drink in Germany!
