    Hiya,

Computer behaving beautifully but printer still doing its own thing.

Managed to sort out loads of paper stuff last night so have a boxful waiting for the shredder. Am trying to sort out the Abandon Hope room a bit at a time, Flylady style. I feel so much better when things are organised and tidy, pity I can't keep them that way.

LOU: have you ever tried doing puzzles, sudoku, crosswords or some such, when you can't sleep. I find that after about an hour my eyelids are closing, I suppose it empties your mind of everything else.
Redruby: Many apologies, I think I gave your brother to someone else yesterday. What an awful situation for him and for those poor little children. Thank goodness he has a supportive family behind him.
Betheebee: That's not the wind you can hear, it's the collective sigh of relief from all your friends on here. Well done you, but mostly 'well done' your DH. What a treasure.:T

Must get on with Church magazine and make the Apricot mincemeat, the ingredients of which have been sitting in bags on the Dining room table for far too long.
Have absolutely no idea what or when we're eating today, probably chicken with something as defrosted some overnight.
    Love to all.

I didn't sleep too well, still trying to figure out the whole uni/work situation in my head. But have appt with my tutor today before lectures so hopefully will sort something out. Not looking forward to lectures, I'm feeling tired which I think may mean I need another B12 injection so will ring Drs tomorrow to see if I'm due one.

Bramble - I haven't even contemplated Xmas shopping yet! And won't til Dec. I don't have that many to buy for - only parents, both nan's, we do secret santa with the girls and in work, and then only maybe the man if he sticks around!

OS wise - HM soup for lunch, HM veggie curry and rice from freezer for tea, need to empty DW.

    Have a good day all

OH and I are having a wedding disagreement - he wants to get married in a church, i don't. He's not religious, neither am i, but he thinks it's 'tradition' what would you lot do?

  • Thanks to all who commented on the situation with DS and school yesterday.
tappers and DG unfortunately these days the rules are all different and the only way of getting your child a place in an integrated resource or special school is by the LEA which is an absolute pain in the bum.....no more special favours by head teachers etc , maybe this still works for a mainstream to mainstream transfer but certainly not in special needs area:o
All this stress has kicked my Aspergers off a treat so have gone into hibernation mode:o DH decided it might be a good idea to tell me a landlord we know has a bigger house we could move to:eek:...nope not at Xmas, and when he is just going to be self employed properly with no fixed salary etc..not the time to commit to another £150 a month..grrr men

Bramble - I'm sure once he's seen the cost of a church wedding he may relent if he is not that religious. I got married in Reg Office it was more about our day [STRIKE]and the cost[/STRIKE] than tradition :D.

Beth - Glad you've took your foot of the pedal a bit x

Done 3hrs cleaning, took dogs for a wander for an hour. house is a mess. Oooh Bitsy that sounds lovely will do that next time (shhh i bought a jar of sauce).

Does anyone know the costs of chruch vs. registry office. OH thinks it's 'council house' to get married in a registry office - seriously, he's such a snob! And he thinks his family won't approve if we don't get married in a church... i say i don't care what they think it's OUR wedding not theirs, unless they want to foot the bill of course!

This was our first attempt to get something in place and it ended with us saying 'fine we won't get married then!'

  • it doen`t have to be in a registry office nowadays....there are hotels and castles and all sorts of venues.
We got married last Xmas in a hotel in the evening by fairylights and it was lovely..then we had evening hot buffet and disco etc. It wasn`t expensive but that is because we kept everything low key ( mainly for DS to be honest).
I don`t think it is the church itself which costs a lot...it is all the frippery some people add on that costs a lot...be it church, hotel, registery office..the actual ceremony isn`t that expensive...it is all the extras that wedding mags say you HAVE to have that bump up the cost.
  • it depends how big a wedding you want...I know a lot of people now who are getting married early evening then having one "do" rather than married at midday then big meal for everyone, then evening do and more food etc.
To be honest the way I had mine was perfect for me as the thought of being centre of attention all day is not for me:p
