... doing it after a 7pm pole class in Waitross is a rather expensive idea. Hungry, feeling virtuous and surrounded by fab food...

Not necessarily a bad idea, most of it was healthy and I did stock up on stuff I can't get elsewhere (and vice versa, declined the £4 pecorino cheese and £3 organic risotto rice, both of which I can get cheaper in Sainsbugs)... but it wasn't cheap. Still, that included a huge bag of frozen chicken breasts - downgrading from organic, as Waitross are the only place I would trust to do farm assured in the essentials range - and lunches for the rest of the week.

Note that even though hungry I did not exit with the reduced Breton chicken because it was still £4.50... I got french onion soup instead  which will do two meals so works out 1/4 of the price. Am learning :D

Something is Afoot. (And not just the things attached to A Leg.)

    Stop stealing my jokes... :naughty:
I posted a while ago that I signed up for monthly subs to the pole class, then didn't go for a week. BUT, I didn't beat myself up over it, decide I was clearly useless therefore subconsciously avoiding it, decide I was just lazy, or drag myself there one night when already overloaded.

In fact I just bought a couple of outfits for it and decided I'd go after the Bank Hol week.

It's meant to be enjoyable. Not a burden. Do it when it suits.
When Drama Queen texted, fb messaged and emailed to offer a get-together this weekend, I declined spending a whole afternoon with him in case he was in the middle of a drama,

    Was he?
and declined going out in town when I didn't really want to.

    :T
Instead we went out for drinks locally on Friday, so I've now seen the local bar. It's rubbish btw,

    OK, I'll avoid it... :p
but we had a good time and I didn't give up time I wanted for other things. What's more, I didn't tell myself off for not wanting to go out in town and missing the possibility of meeting men - not least because I would have been with a pack of gay guys, and after trying the local bar I think I've been reminded why internet dating may actually be a good idea.

It's because you get to choose the idiots from *all* kinds of villages...
(And I've emailed somebody to get a copy of a recent photo I like and might use on the sites.)

That's good. A photo you're happy with is a good first step.
But I have caught up on sleep, realised that I hadn't felt great this last week, and realised that was probably related to the stress the weeks before. Have eaten properly, done a bit of sorting the flat, and made lunch for tomorrow.

    :T
Am not going to make myself stay awake til silly o'clock just to say I've done something on the project today rather than tomorrow.

    How's it going?
I'm not quite sure what all this is, except Different and Better.

    :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

What makes it a Breton chicken? Does it wear a beret?

    Was he?

Actually, no. He was quite calm for the first time in ages and we had a pretty good time. Am still not convinced I want to go out drinking with his local harem, but rounding up a few people for all-you-can-eat at one of the local restaurants on a Sunday might work quite well.

... without being charged £6 for a cocktail, having to spend 10 mins waving at the staff to eventually order said cocktail, then wait another 10 mins for it to turn up, and be glared at when refusing to add a service charge despite a) being a table of two only ordering drinks, not a table of 5+ as per their own instructions, and b) their service was carp.

If it was a bigger and busy bar I might be a bit more sympathetic, but I could have walked two steps to the bar and done it myself, and they went past us every time they went to any other tables! We over-tipped the lovely waiter in the restaurant we went to for dessert instead :rotfl:

:rotfl: I suspect 'windswept' curls and a tri-season jacket aren't what a lot of people aim for in these things, but I look (and was) happy so I like it.

It isn't tonight, given that being late out of work left the shopping being done after class instead of before, then got detoured trying to sort hotels etc for family event, and I am determined to get to bed by 11.30 so that I can try and get my sleep cycle sorted. But have whole evening free tomorrow, chores mostly done already, and food stocked up so should get onto it tomorrow night. Do nag.

It's crossed with a chestnut carthorse, has horizontal stripes, wears a peaked cap and speaks a language more related to Welsh than French. :p

Not that you'd be able to tell it from any other chicken when it's cut up with bacon, mustard and leeks.

Not sure, but there's a new ring of hell being constructed as we speak.

    Yes indeedy it does. :T

Not at all. It says "Rugged outdoor type - not pampered princess" which many men would be very happy/overjoyed with.

Errr Z, I think I get what you're aiming to say but just for future reference, there are not very many women who like to be described as 'rugged'. (And I suspect most of those who do aren't looking for a man.)

I'm not quite sure what the feminine version ought to be either (and the thesaurus isn't helping) but you'd be safer starting with 'fit'.

    Pfffft.

Have belatedly realised that it's not so much the pace of work that drains me as the emotional drama (not going into details, but having to help resolve a complex situation).

This evening seems to have disappeared on trying to organise family event, finding that the council want to charge me for a certificate to say I'm on the electoral roll  and other admin.

On the bright side, NSD; passable eating; have found out how to get car near enough to allotment; and have clear diary through to weekend so planning to get head down on study. Oddly, am a bit disturbed at realising empty diary... I must be recovered if I'm feeling sociable :rotfl:

TV licence also annoying me with their stupid in advance for first 6 months direct debit system... don't think I can be bothered doling out the savings to myself each month so will chuck it into the current account now and at least it can be reducing the overdraft. It is the last of my bills sorted though so now they are all on direct debit and no need to put aside.

What? They don't have a rug?

They need to be a bit more circumspect with the "razor" thing then...  :rotfl:
I'm not quite sure what the feminine version ought to be either (and the thesaurus isn't helping) but you'd be safer starting with 'fit'.

    So then:
    Main Entry: rugged

    Part of Speech: adjective

    Definition: big, strong

Synonyms: able-bodied, athletic, brawny, energetic, forceful, hale, hardy, healthy, husky, indefatigable, lusty, muscular, robust, sturdy, tough, unflagging, vigorous, well-built

    Antonyms: small, tiny, weak

So you're not going for forceful, lusty or well-built then? :rotfl:

"Helping" does not mean "taking the burden of".

Tell them to go stuff themselves. The records will update in a few weeks anyway.
    On the bright side, NSD;

    :T
    passable eating;

Passable? And next: "Good and refreshing?"
    have found out how to get car near enough to allotment;

    That's a euphemism - isn't it?

Another good point - gratuitous use of semi-colons while making a list. Hits; the; spot;...

... and looking forward to the view...

Spreadsheet shuffling is suggesting the possibility that my net status might just squeak sub £10K on payday. And that I can kill the smallest credit card. Am unreasonably excited. :j

Have now checked up exact balances, disbursed £5 Quidco payment, and emptied the piggybanks I thought only had pennies in (delighted to actually get a total of £6.34, clearly I had a £2 coin saving phase I'd forgotten about) in order to make necessary payments and still keep the rest of my budget intact. So far spreadsheet says I should make it by £4 :rotfl: but am hoping for a bit more of a margin as have allowed for another £100 coming out of the current account - not quite sure when mobile phone debit will hit, and need some food shopping, but can keep that minimal and will be having cheap weekend of study and allotment. Fingers crossed :)

(This will all be promptly b*****xed by having to book theatre tickets for family event on my credit card, but as that will be paid back to me within a couple of weeks I won't count it in my totals.)

Still haven't got any studying done :( came home late and cross due to further nonsense at work :( but am out of the office all day tomorrow :) and hoping to escape early on Friday to take back extra hours :). Plus meeting in the city on Monday has been cancelled which saves me hugely long day and I get my evening back :T

Oh and have found out don't have to move next April as office will be staying where it is :T that makes life a little less complicated.
