I reckon these lightbulbs will have effectively cost over £500 apiece by the time we get the darn things!!:mad::mad:

Yup - that's about the going rate.

Our process is rather more streamlined. We have a word with the admin people. The admin people have a word with Dave the caretaker. Dave Makes Stuff Happen...
    :)
    • Remembered to get petrol for driving north, so don't have to do on morning of trip
    • Dance lesson confirmed
    • Job application only needs one more reference confirmed and experience summary entering, so can go in tomorrow night

Don't leave it all to the last moment... :naughty:;):p
    • Spent half the day fixing stuff that's not my job, but it means now have info to start fixing it longer term

Hmm, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Usually it ends up with "well you touched it last"...
    :(
    • Remembered must do car checks on tyres etc before trip - not favourite job. Where's the chauffeur when I want him?

    It's *easy*.
    • Wondering what am in for at dance lesson :rotfl:

No, no. That's a definite :D. Just pretend it's a handbag if you're having problems dancing around it...
Also had a text about a friend of friend interested in housesharing - would be cheaper than renting alone and mean we could get a place with a garden.

Just be careful you're not dependent on him being there in order to be able to afford it. If you are, check that he's wanting to be there about as long as you.
And central heating :j Have met the guy briefly and he seemed sane, so did his girlfriend - although I thought they lived together, so must check if I could be sharing with a heartbreak-addled nutcase before agreeing to anything.

    :rotfl:
(Am not being mean - honestly think everyone is bonkers for min. 6 weeks after serious break-up.

Sometimes they're bonkers before. It leads to the break-up when they get caught...
Off to do some serious 'goddessing' (to pinch a Lula term) in case mirrors are involved at dance lesson :rotfl:

It's hard work, so you'll end up red and "glowing"...

Can't remember the last time I had that much time off and it didn't involve an exam of some sort . Taking one more day than originally planned for the Edinburgh trip :j - and because adding up leave properly means I need to use some before the end of March!

Yes, we have that problem - not allowed to carry any forward any more. They tried bringing it in last year, then promptly shat themselves when a whole bunch of us booked March off.
:T Good for you. Any particular plans for it?

Nope - just not working. What about you?

Have been taking lessons from Professor Fox. As I've now done the work myself, nobody can accuse me of random interference or ignorance when I tell them how it's going to be done better. :D

Early Christmas up north this weekend, then holidays at own place. Not working probably consisting of reading, sleeping, cooking, and avoiding town centre as will be mad. Also have booked ski lessons at snowdome so might get to try it outdoors after that :j

    yes, Uncle Z :p

    You'll be sorry... :naughty::p
So's hoovering. Still don't like it.

It's a lot quicker than hoovering. It's actually a lot quicker than filling the damn thing with petrol.

Four dustcaps off, check the pressures. Pop the bonnet, and bounce up and down on the front end to get the fluids moving in the bottles. Then a quick wipe and dip of the stick.

How do you like yours? ;)

  • Exited work on time :), surprisingly everything ran pretty much to plan today so here's hoping for a reasonably calm Christmas period. Director has agreed my suggestion of what should now be added to my job description (<- cunning plan :D) though I also appear to have been volunteered to line manage another 3 people _pale_. Fortunately they seem to be sane ones. Had another M&S lunch episode though :o, and grabbed something for this evening as no point shopping when am heading off tomorrow... and had dance lesson this evening...

... which was bl**dy marvellous fun :j:j :T:T, will be booking another lesson before Christmas and joining a class in the New Year. Second lesson also v cheap as was a Groupon deal :).

In other news... not much, except should have £10 shortly coming off my Barclaycard to thank me for registering with their new website.

Off to finish up job application so can get rid of the thing :rotfl:

    Nora! :j welcome :T

Dance class was due to me muttering about doing new stuff a few pages ago and somebody mentioning burlesque, which reminded me I had a Groupon for pole dancing lessons still in a folder somewhere :rotfl:. And it even turned out to be still in date :)

So that's where I've been this evening and it was fab. Enough grace and anti-gravity to engage my brain, toning and music too :T Tutor is lovely and apparently so far I am picking stuff up fast - I have reasonably good balance and flexibility already. Need to work on the muscle strength a bit [STRIKE]*awaits Z's input on my thighs*[/STRIKE] rephrase *expects comments from Z about my thigh muscles again*

Haven't joined a class for ages but like the idea for this - was going to look at martial arts but that gets a bit serious and I think I need some fun. Plus it might mean I actually wear some of the high heels that are currently chucked in boxes because I can't really stand up in them - very MSE, no? :D

  • Sounds brilliant - what a fab idea...and how girly to be able to get fit in heels!

Ahhh, that Z....cheeky wotnot.....*tries hard not to sink to the level and make a comment about nut-cracking thigh muscles*

I'm normally carp with heels - but I think girly would be good at this point. Am having to spend far too much time acting like a grown-up at work and properly girly activities are a bit limited recently. So can fix that with learning to turn myself upside down in silly shoes :rotfl:
