Hi WABL, it put me & hubby in a vile mood too. Unfortunately we received it on a day off together so it kind of put a black cloud over us on that day too.
Hope you managed to get some stuff on ebay, we've done really well with it lately, but my enthusiasm is waning after spending another hour wrapping stuff after work last night.0 -
The large ebay item hasn't sold yet, but there are 6 watchers, so I'm hopeful. There's 4 days or so left on it, if it doesn't sell I'm going to lower the price a little and relist. I know it will sell for a profit, but just trying to get as much as we can from it.
This morning I paid another £45 off the credit card from the item I sold on the notice board at work. That's brought it down to almost £1200.
I've lost track of the grocery budget this month, so am just trying to keep spending to a minimum. DS has not been sleeping well, if it all, and combined with other things on my mind that are worrying me, I am exhausted and not finding it easy to function normally! I am forgetting X, Y and Z and generally talking rubbish half the time, it's actually concerning me now. We have a busy week this week but at the weekend I'm going to try and chill out a bit.
Good news is that I have sorted out my working hours for the next 13 months. I had a meeting with my manager this morning and I am able to continue working part time until April 2013 when I could potentially return full time if I want to. It was such a weight off my mind, I could've hugged the boss (but didn't)! We worked out that we would be worse off if I returned full time due to being taxed more and the increase in childcare, so I don't know how we would've managed. Ideally, I would like to go back full time when DS is 3 as we get the 15 hours free childcare then (unless the government scrap that policy too before then...) and DS is at a better age to be in full time nursery. But I think that is pushing my luck a little. We'll see, but at least I don't have to worry about it for now.0 -

Sounds as though you need some sleep hon. Easy to say when it's not happening, but try and take some time to yourself xxOur LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Yeah, sleep would be wonderful, but unlikely at the moment!
Just paid another little chunk off the credit card from eBay sales - £54.66. Balance is now £1150.0 -

Hi DFSD
I'm pleased the work situation is sorted out and that you get to keep your options open for a year. Well done in getting that outcome.
You seem to be having your fair share of ups and downs. I hope things are OK at the moment.
I haven't been on here much because I have totally fallen off the MSE bandwagon (and have credit card bills to prove it). Since I am not getting anywhere on the house-moving front, in the meantime I have some extra disposable cash and, what can I say, it has been disposed of! What started off with a small treat has escalated into spending all the extra cash and more. I have had a nice time, though! And some of it has gone towards a couple of short breaks away at Easter and later in the year.
I think this month is a case of damage limitation, but after that, I need to make more efforts to save some cash. I will be back!
Best wishes xMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Aw, thanks BlushingRose, that's a kind thought.
DS has slept better this past week, we're still up every night with him, but it seems to be less frequent than last week. It certainly helps to get a little more sleep!0 -

Hi Chocs xx I was getting a bit worried about you as you hadn't been around for a while. Glad you're ok and that you've been having fun times.
I wouldn't worry too much about your credit card balance; judging from your past efforts, I'm sure you'll have paid it off and re-established the savings in no time!
Sorry to hear there's no progress on the flat sale, maybe with spring around the corner things will look up on that front. Fingers crossed for you. x0 -
Although I've paid a lot off of the credit card this month, the bank balance is looking particularly poor already thanks to us overspending on the grocery budget (I assume - I lost track again...) and little bits and bobs spent here and there - usual story. I've had to transfer £100 from the house/car pot to make sure there's some money in the main account. Guess we'll be O/D again this month.
I have another pile of Ds's 'too small' clothes for ebay which I was going to leave for a while, but guess I'll have to try and get them listed sooner now. I was hoping to have a little break from ebay, but needs must and all that.
The high-value item I am selling did not sell as a BIN, despite having loads of watchers, so I have listed it as an auction style sale this time round. Just hope it doesn't go for too little.0 -
Thanks for your reply
. I hope you got a few things put on Ebay - little and often is best, I think, to avoid a parcelling up extravaganza!
Well I have made some small steps today. I put a book on Ebay; it will only make a few pounds but might as well have the money.
There has been a drought in terms of MSing over January and February. However, things have suddenly picked up a bit this month. It doesn't make much money (unless someone is a non-tax payer), but the key thing for me is that it stops me shopping for things for me :rotfl:. Anyway, I have done 5 over the last few days and have a couple more tomorrow. I am glad of the money when it arrives at the end of the month even if it is only £50 or £100.
At some point I may put my house savings total in my signature to deter me from spending it. But not today. I'm not feeling brave enough.
