  • We've sold a couple more bits over the weekend - Ds's old car seat and the large piece of furniture was picked up, so that's us £200 better off.

We also had to return Ds's new pushchair as it developed a fault. We were promptly refunded, but have had to buy a new one, although we found a slightly cheaper one, so were £49 better off at the end of it all. :)

Did splash out yesterday and spent £30 on an outside toy for Ds for the summer. Can also be used inside, so is wet weather proof. :) I'm thinking that it may keep him occupied for a while during the moving and unpacking too...

Today I need to notify EDF, council tax and the water company, of our imminent change of address. That'll be a few ticked off the list. Tried to notify talk talk but as our address is a new build and wasn't registered at the time, it opened all sorts of cans of worms with their overseas call centre staff. I can see us being phone and internet-less for a long while after we've moved.

Looked up our council tax for the new area yesterday and was shocked to see it's going to cost us between £70 - £100 more PER MONTH depending on what band they shove the house in!! I have no idea why the area is so expensive, it's really not posh!
In light of that shocker, I attempted to work out our new budget. We should be fine if we stick to it and don't overspend on stuff we don't need and keep a rein on the grocery budget, but I doubt we'll be overpaying much on the mortgage for a while until we've saved enough for a second car.

Good news; I've had around £60 worth of orders from my craft business in the last couple of days, so that will add to the savings pot too once I've put a little aside for tax.

Oooh, check out my new DF badge!!!!
  • Just transferred £128.91 from my business account to the ISA which is now our savings account for a 2nd car. Balance is now £844.41, should hopefully be around the £1500 mark in a couple of weeks, depending how much cash we have left in our bank account once we've paid for everything 'move-related'. :)
  • I've been able to transfer more money than I thought to our savings pot this morning, so there's now £2k in there. May be able to add a little more, but we'll see how the month goes first.

It's pay day today and i've received extra this month after working lots more hours last month, leaving me about £300 extra. The nursery bill is also higher to reflect the extra child care, but we're still better off this month. Let's hope it stats that way!

Well done on finding the extra money. Have you got a moving date?
