When you say newest how new is that? The main box is from this years contract (Sky+ HD box) and the multiroom box is from last years contract (Sky+ HD box) so about 1 and 13 months old respectively, both machines are the exact same models as far as i can tell.
They need to be the latest Amstrad models. If you have the relevant models you should already have (or will receive very soon) "On Demand" instead of "Anytime+"
  • Hi, have just got a Sky+ HD box with Sky Anytime and have just found out that I'm not connected to Anytime as yet.
I do have a plug in the socket behind my TV which allows me to access the internet on my TV (homeplug?); how do I get my new Sky box to link to that please?
    Thanks
    Lynne

Just an ethernet cable into the ethernet socket in the Sky+HD box.

However, if you need to keep the TV itself connected, a 'hub' like that suggested by penrhyn would be needed.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I tried another way. Ordered two adapters from sky for two boxes. Paid the twenty quid but they agreed to give me a twenty pound credit. Can't complain. Good service b

Yep as I advised in a previous post......I got mine for free. Just phoned Sky and had a polite conversation with their customer services agent and hey presto..offered an adaptor for free.
  • I have just tried the polite conversation route to no avail ! Anyway £9.99 is still a good price.

I do think the Box was deliberately over-priced at launch to make the current "discount" seem like a tremendous bargain. I would also imagine the next generation of Sky receivers will have this technology built into them.
Regardless, I get a rock-solid internet connection for Sky On Demand with Homeplugs.

Oh yes...but did you try "I got Sky on the understanding that I could get Sky on demand for free" and/or "I am disappointed that you are asking me to pay £9.99 for Sky Demand when VM are offering the same package for free" and/or "I am disappointed that you are asking me to pay £9.99 for Sky Demand when I can get this free on Freeview boxes" ?

Just need to think of wot to say before you make the call.:)

I am usually very good at getting freebies/discounts.;)

I tried the, "My friend got one free last week" ruse. I was told by the nice chap " I would get the sack if my boss found out I was giving them away."

Anyway I have had two new Sky + HD boxes in the past couple of months so I am happy. Worth checking your account on My Sky, it was in there in August and again this month.
