:rotfl::rotfl:I shouldnt think so, she was born clutching a giro.

Joking aside it states on her blurb that she has given certain persons information regarding a very serious crime, I hope they realise she's just a fake:mad:

The human brain is hard-wired for pattern-spotting and connection-making. It is why we are a successful animal. We can see tigers in long grass, we can recognise food from poison by pattern matching.

Things like the 'Iceland' thing above - clearly spirit isn't useless enough to say 'thinking of going to iceland' to mean complaining at a shop. Broad enough statements will sometimes stick days later as the mind tries to match the pattern. The information will seem specific and 'spot on' because people misremember the actual reading 'going to Iceland' and find a route to something that did happen, the route seems non-obvious, so they think 'ohhh they could never have known that, they must be talking with auntie Doris'.

I went to see a so-called psychic many years ago. I've never believed in these things but was pushed into it by a friend who caught me at a low point. Her & her mother used to visit loads of them, but this one was particularly recommended by her & also very expensive. I don't regret it and it was a bit of fun. However, I could easily spot her two main tricks.

    1) Get me to do the reading for her. e.g. ask me whose is the June/July birthday, craftily having two guesses disguised as one. If I'd answered "my wife" for example, she'd know I'm married. Strangley none of the various months she mentioned corresponded to particularly significant birthdays. Similarly, all of the names she mentioned were very common and it would be surprising if I didn't know someone by that name. More significantly, she failed to mention any of the names that were close to me.

    2) Find out what I want to do, tell me it's going to happen and then encourage me to make it happen. She recommended this book "The Power Of Positive Thinking" which encourages you to do just that, which I thought was strange as she reckoned that all of these things she foretold will happen to me regardless. It did work to a certain extent as I was keen to change job, and when she told me that I'd have a new job by October, I did find myself going all out to make it happen. Alas it was many years later before I finally managed to find new employment.

She reckoned she'd never been wrong about anything before, yet she was wrong about pretty much everything that was supposed to be happening to me within the next 18 months. A total crock of !!!!!!!

I agree with your opening sentence.

However, as the OP of the post you refer to, I'd appreciate a little more accuracy when you use my comments as an example.

    Here is what I said:
"When I attended a local demonstration the man went on and on to me about "going to Iceland", "you're thinking about visiting Iceland" and I said no, not at all. It wasn't till later when I was replayin it in my mind that it made some sort of sense. I had a very serious complaint with the Iceland store and was waiting for a settlement proposal from their Head Office and it was on my mind a lot at the time! That's why I now think that some people are able to pick up "vibes" from others. The bloke seems to have picked up that "Iceland" was on my mind and assumed it was the country."

I drew no conclusions about spirits, other worlds or the like. In fact, I have said elsehwere in this thread that I believe some people seem to be able to pick up things from others - perhaps due to some heightened intuitve sense. Personally, I don't think it was what you describe as a "broad enough statement". Perhaps if he had referred to travelling/going abroad generally when I wasn't (but had the Iceland thing going on) would have fitted your description but that's not what he said. Why did he choose to say Iceland? This happened in the 1990s before financial crisis/volcanoes etc when Magnus Magnusson was about all the country was known for :)

Please don't selectively quote me to further your argument.

    Thank you.

 Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself ;)
