do you believe in psychic mediums readings

I was a skeptic believer until I went to see colin fry recently and came away knowing he was a complete fraud. :(

one woman he "read" her relative had been talking about who she wanted to hear from when we were in the foyer and why and of course he repeated just that.
another did not give him any feedback and answered with a yes or no surprise surprise he did not give her anything.

he wears hearing aids he says because of a hearing problem but if he only wants people to answer with a yes or no then surely he could remove them and people could nod or shake the head, after all he can see the person on the big screen displayed behind him.

sally morgan was the most recent to be discovered wearing an ear piece.

colin fry was known as lincoln and got caught when someone turned the light on showing him holding a trumpet that was supposedly floating in the darkness. :D full story on google.

none of them have taken up the offer of $1m by randi in the usa.
 Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself ;)

In the end, it's not the years in your life
that count....it's the life in your years :D

I wouldn't write it off completely. I once went to a public meeting at the Spiritualists Association of Great Britain in Belgrave Square and was absolutely gobsmacked by what I was told. It was not genralisations but very specific and the person had no way of knowing the information. I was there on my own, knew no-one & had not spoken to anyone. I was so impressed that I made an appointment for a private reading with the same person but that was a total disaster. I'm not convinced that there is another dimension but I do think that there are maybe people who can pick up on vibes from others - something that maybe thousands of yeasr ago we could all do but have now lost the ability. I think this is perhaps what happened at Belgrave Square. Although I would say I wasn't consciously thinking about anyone in particular, obviously something had made me go there in the first place. The person doing the reading was able to pick up on that the first time. I now believe that they can't just do this at will which is why the private appointment was a failure. When they start doing TV series or a schedule of appearances, they come under all sorts of pressure because there will be times when they pick up nothing but they have to say something and I think this is when the subterfuge starts.

Yes, this is very true and explains why there was such a surge of interest after the First World War when millions of men never came back.
  • When Derren Brown can achieve the same results without claiming any 'powers', you do have to wonder.

As mentioned, it's all about wanting to believe; and personally, I'd lump religion in with that as well.

I've always been interested in things like that and really want to believe but whenever i've seen anyone who professes to be psychic i've come away disappointed.

I've always been really sceptical about psychics etc, but I once had a scaring accurate tarot reading from a guy in a pub in Edinburgh.
He was there doing readings and I thought what the he'll, and gave it a go for a laugh. I was very closed, gave away no information, and although about 80% of it was obviously a generalisation that would have applied to most people in some way, he came out with a few very accurate statements. He told me that I would be getting engaged very soon (I was not expecting my boyfriend at the time to ever propose, so I laughed this off. My boyfriend had a ring at the hotel, and proposed to me the next day, it had been planned for ages. He said there was no way the guy could have known this)
However, the guy said to beware of making such a commitment, as in the near future, something would happen that would alter my feelings and change my path (this one I won't go into, but was entirely accurate, entirely unexpected, and no-one could have known about it)

Stick to the newspaper astrology section, it costs much less and you will have as much meaningful information in there as any psychic could conjure up, up until they can give you next weeks lottery results, take them all with the tiniest pinch of salt.

This book is excellent - Ian Rowland describes all the techniques used by stage/tarot etc psychics. You could be making cash from dupes this time next week. The sad, disgusting thing is that most stage psychics etc justify their deception with 'well it brings comfort' whilst barefacedly lying. And they sell just enough hope to keep people coming back - people in vulnerable positions.

I believe there are 3 types of 'psychics' -
    1) Those who genuinely believe they are gifted and do readings for free - maybe they are, but there is also just a hint of a chance they're deluded. At least their motivations are pure.
    2) Those who know all the tricks and do them for entertainment (Derren Brown is a wonderful example)
    3) Those who dress the tricks up as a gift in order to separate hurting, vulnerable people from their money. These people are utter filth and scum. This is the category pretty much any stage psychic or tarot reader is in.

Ooooh the spirits are coming through now...something about a box of old photos, and the initial 'M'...do we have an 'M' in the forum? Tell me M, did your granny have a hat? Yes? She's wearing it in spirit now and laughing and sends you her love.

Anyone skeptically unsure, read the book (ask the library, it's quite expensive, worth buying if you want to make money from deceiving vulnerable people).
