Wow a whole month of no diary. And what a massive financial suck it's been :(

We discovered permitted development rights had been removed from housing development so application for retrospective permission for conservatory is required. Because council are so fcuking anally retentive we've already had one application returned as void :( so cue £200 to a guy to do it for us including all the drawings and maps <sigh>

Then there is the Freelander. Wish we had never clapped eyes on the ruddy thing. So far this little beauty has cost us £1700 in garage fees :mad: and that doesn't account for the prop shaft bearings and new tyres that it will eventually need

So to say I am glad April is over is an understatement. I just hope to God nothing else requires repairing..........

This !!!!! weather has meant any progress in garden has been none existent :( grass is too long and needs cutting, spare turf H dumped on flower beds is likely to take root, seeds are taking forever to germinate or those that have are awaiting a chance to go out and pot them on. Sure I coud go out and do it in the rain but am already getting a soaking twice a day walking the dog so getting wet again has lost its appeal.

Sorry not the most positive post but I need a whinge :o normal service needs to return for tomorrow, it's May after all.......

Bitsy, whinge away, m'dear; sometimes it's all that keeps us sane! Yah boo to sucky councils!:p

Mr LW's got 2 days annual leave, so yesterday, the ONE fine day we've had all week, we took Lucy Labrador out to the pub. She was so good; we brought her cushion for her to sit on (she doesn't care for cold stone floors) and the pub we go to is dog-friendly and gave her a bowl of water, so that was good.

Oh, and Mr LW managed to get the gras cut yesterday, thank goodness - we were in danger of losing Lucy in it when she went outside to pee!:rotfl:

Back to wet'n'windy walkies today, though.

Lucy's going home tomorrow - no idea where the last 10 days went to!

glad Lucy has been a good lab. I am about ready to throttle Luna. We have reached the selective hearing stage and is too busy mooching for crap to eat than respond to recall. Shes also managed to give herself what we will politely term "rubbishy tum" we walk over local fields so its now awash with horse and cow poo and all manner of god knows what and being typical its all ending up in her mouth :( will end up with a muzzle at this rate.

Oh dear Bitsy that's not good. Specially with some of the garbage that seems to be on the ground these days;:( and the vet who writes in the Telegraph has mentioned there's a recent spread of canine lungworm, which dogs can pick up by eating slugs and snails in the garden. Not to scare you, but it's something you need to know about if Luna's becoming a rubbish-eater.

Lucy went home yesterday; but I shan't be dogless for long, as Dylan the Lurcher is due to arrive tomorrow morning.:o

Thanks LW vet had mentioned lungworms, thankfully the not :money: Advocate flea treatment and wormer covers lungworms too so he told me.
    Enjoy Dylan staying :)

Made a little progress in garden declutter. Bagged up a load of sandpit toys to give to friend who I gave sandpits to so when I see her I can offload them to her.
Little Tikes house has been scrubbed and photographed for fleabay, be sad to see it go but the kids don't play with it anymore and it's taking up valuable space in garden.
Dashed round with mower last night and gave the lawn it's first cut of the year  boy did it need it. Quickly edged it and although parts of the garden still need tidying up it does look less like steptoes yard out there :o
Not much else in the way of money saving going on, seem to handing over cash quicker than it comes in

Only just got around to listing play house. Within an hour already got one watcher and an enquiry about a buy it now price. I suspect any financial gains from selling said playhouse will be negated by the costs spent tarting up the garden. 4 bags of stones which is currently insufficient is over £20, a further 5 bags required to finish the job.

Did gain my mums old flymo which is a good job as the old one died and it was only last week lawn got it first haircut of the season.

Garden still looking a tip but slightly less of a tip than previously. I consider that progress :rotfl: if weather holds tomorrow more tidying in garden will continue.

Need to start stashing some money aside for the dog a shes 5 months old next week (how the hell did that happen?!) and first season will be looming quick. Current price for beng spade at the vets is £150 so best start sooner rather than later.......

I have peas coming along nicely along with my parsnips that I can see sprouting, potted on my leeks and broccoli. Courgette plants will be ready to plant out once threat of cold weather is finally past. My poor basil however has taken a beating courtesy of DS who managed to knock over the plant pot not once but twice. If seedlings survive it will be a minor miracle. Oh and I sowed carrots but a child who remains unknown managed to dig in one of those pots

Lettuce not sprouted yet but spring onions going well :T

:rotfl: now my peppers survived last year (mind you they were on a higher windowsill) but couldn't get the ruddy things to ripen outdoors. H suggested that I shouldn't treat the conservatory as a greenhouse  of course we shouldn't expect our darling offspring not to wreck the joint should we
