Made the decision to switch puppy off complete dried food and onto tinned. Shes just had her first taste and licked the glaze off the bowl :rotfl: Might cost a bit more but i was wasting food each feed as despite wetting it she wasnt eating it all so it ended up being thrown away. anyway I would rather she ate what she liked than ending up having to keep cajoling her to eat. Happy puppy = happy me
Sown some peas into veggie patch. if they survive the dog and her garden escapdes it will be a miracle <rolleyes> Got the propagator out of the shed of doom so will be sowing some leeks and bell peppers in there and some parsnips in the veggie plot :j
Apple trees have some buds on them so yay to managing not to kill those
We have also decided to upgrade the car, H hates it and would like something different so cue clash of opinions on whether low mileage is actually worth approx £1000..........
holding off a food shop until tomorrow, must write my list and get back into menu planning. keep looking at the planning and thinking I don't want to eat that option or I dont have the ingredients. Bitsy dogs have different preferences, the same as people, imho. There's something really satisfying about seeing a woofer enjoying his/her food, isn't there?:o Is Luna having anything to keep her teeth clean? That's the only problem with "wet" food; it can stick to their teeth at bit, rather like sweeties on childrens' teeth, iyswim.:o
My next two guests, Derek and Clive, are going to be fun; they've stayed before, so I know what to expect. Clive is a little piggy, and Derek needs encouraging to eat, so the trick is give Clive his food in the kitchen and shut the door and leave him to eat it, and take Derek out into the hallway, sit with him, and gently talk to him; that way he gets his grub without Clive trying to pinch it. They're arriving on Friday - I can't wait!:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
When shes old enough she will be having a good old juicy bone.....none of this dentatix malarky. My mums old labs had terrible breath and teeth towards the end because of BSE we couldn't get them bones but i dont believe that is a problem any more. I have bought a mixer biscuit to go with it, assuming she'll eat it and no eat all the wet food and leave the biscuit like this morning <rollseyes>
Enjoy Derek and Clive, I have to say I am loving their names :rotfl:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

when one of our dogs was young, she wouldnt eat the dry food. we gave her the wet food and she would gulp it back so quick and make herself sick. so we started putting dry mix in with it. the blooming dog spat out every single bit of the dry mix on the floor next to the bowl :rotfl: slowed her down though :rotfl:"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0

Hmmm not so sure......our first lab when I was a kid managed to remove all the pins from a piece of felt before eating it :eek:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

when my mother and SD got married, they didnt bother with a proper reception etc. they had a small party at the house. they left all the food in the living room and shut the door to keep the dog out. that was when they discovered he could open doors and helped himself to all the cocktail sausages off the cocktails sticks :rotfl: mind you i'm sure that dog thought he was a cat. he only had to get a waft of fish and he was there pestering you for some.
he got some sort of disease in one of his eyes and had to have it removed. he was then forever walking into things which i'm sure damaged a few brain cellshe had a thing for trying to chase bikes. if we walked him in the park and he saw one, he would run after it, tail wagging all excited. if the bike stopped he would turn and run back the other way :rotfl: one day he actually ran into a tree because it was on the side he couldnt see
dont think he ever fully adjusted to having one eye :rotfl: he was the daftest and soppiest dog ever though. would put his paws around your neck and give you cuddles
