  • oooh i DO have a steamer!!! never thought of that!!!!

will give that a try... seems such a shame to throw everything away. It was all brand new, Unused, all set up ready for when baby arrives...... Looked lovely too :(

Gonna get myself a water pistol, sit in the front porch and wait for any unsuspecting cat to pass by my door....... GangstaCat... lol..

My new neighbours are gonna hate me!

If it was me I'd find out who's cat it is and have a word with them, tell them you are not happy and that it has ruined hundreds of pounds worth of baby clothes etc. They will probably tell you to get stuffed but you never know....

Good afternoon - hope everyone is well.

Just a quickie - I've found a new 1p item (hope it hasn't already been found anyway - don't have time to read back cos I have to whizz back out in a minute.)

Cadbury Vampire Mallows. SEL £1.79 ish - scan at 1p

They're in the biscuit aisle. Only saw them cos I was looking for Cadbury Freaky Fingers (all gone :() Best Before March 2012. I took 5 packs but there were loads left. This was in an Extra store

Also picked up 4 Light Up Yoyos at 20p each
5 packs of Clipper Green Tea at 1p each

Gotta dash. Soz if I'm reeeeeally slow off the mark and that this is old news. Catch up with you later. x

    Hi princesswoo

I'm new to all this myself and have been trawling threads for days trying to work out the best way to get the best deals in T's.

I Live in Cumbria too, do you mind stating which store as I will tryto be extra careful there myself.

    Thanks
    Helen
    Morning folks.

Had a nightmare in T's yesterday.

Did a bit fo shopping to max out my coupons, comfort, cheese, free chips, some tins for the cupboard etc etc. For the first time ever the SA scrutinised every single coupon, then she rang for her supervisor, and when she arrived the SA said, I think she's being fraudulent, look at all these coupons.

I was mortified, there was a queue of 5 people behind me all tutting.

So I looked the supervisor straight in the eye and said, suspend the transaction and I will go to customer services with you whilst you check my coupons and I will ring HO to get the situation clarified, No way am I attempting any fraud.

    All I had was 3 x £1 tesco price flop (cheese, cake & home) 5 x comfort, 2 x pilgrims, 1 x Chips (newspaper), 1 x £3 off cheese (tesco CC coupon). Hardly a huge stash.

So off I marched to CS, the trout on the CS desk who has issued me with 3 DTD over the last month was giving me evils.

Supervisor walks over and say, it's ok, we can take these coupons, I have just spoken to my manager, I had to check, as they looked photocopied, which is fraud. So I started telling her the difference between safe coupons and coupons you can print of as many times as you like.

Again I am having to explain Tesco's own policy to its own staff and a supervisor as well.

I was almost in tears & shaking like a leaf, leaving the store, I wasnt doing anything wrong, all my coupons were for items I had bought, yet I was made to feel like a criminal.

Also just want to add that I hope all those up in Scotland stay safe today.... I did live in the Highlands for 7 years, (loved it BRW) but am now back 'down south'. Get very jealous when I read some of HC's tales!
I have many friends in all areas of scotland, including Glasgow, and am thinking of you all. XXX

Mums house is up for sale if you ever want to move back. ;)

If you manage to get rid of the smell, then I'm sure the clothes would be fine. Trouble is getting rid of the smell :( the smell is incredibly hard to get rid of even when washed loads of times. You could try soaking in white vinegar before washing, this gets rid of most stains and also the smell of body odour, so could work a treat on this too.
Also it won't damage the clothes and will act as a steriliser as well.

Good luck, hope you it works out :)

You can freeze milk and bread. I know it's not quite the same once defrosted, but at least you would have some if you got snowed in :)

Mum freezes bread, but she's never really been keen on freezing milk for some reason. Boss used to do it in winter and to me it never tasted right. and UHT milk is horrid!

cat and pet owners. if you feed your pet james wellbeloved go to this site for £3 off cat food £10 dog food. this is a quality pet food and in my opinion the best. as i'm sure H.C. would recommend.

In my opinion Hills Vet Essentials is the best, for senior cats especially, my kitties are thriving on it, admittedly it's on the expensive side but my vets often have 3 for 2 offers on it to bring the price down so price per feed per cat I think it works out at around 50p.

Re comfort coupons, I was printing the entire page each time and using my guillotine thing to cut the persil and comfort ones off, saving the persil ones for a price drop! Didn't have any problems but did use a lot of paper, mind you since I got a haul of 35 bottles over the offer period, I saved £26.25 so don't mind a bit more paper and printer ink! :D

Hahaha! nooooo, when I lived at mums I used to work on a farm. It was only about 7 miles to work but when it snowed I often got a tractor home to make sure I could get to work the next morning. The farmer had 2,500 sheep and they needed fed. Anyone remember the Foot & Mouth? we got caught out big time that year, all the sheep were 12 miles away from the farm when the Government imposed the livestock restriction and then the snow set in, hard. Every day, 3 times a day back and forth with feed for them. The snow was so bad in places I had to cut across other farmers fields and even then some fields were a bit on the deep side. Boss always went ahead with another another tractor and deep bits the two were linked up with chains, get it right the first time rather than mess it up and get stuck and end up with a problem. The things I did for a pittance of a wage...

I did wonder lol! I grew up on a farm, tractors are so useful for so many things besides farming. My mum and I both had Peugeot 205s, hers red, mine white, as mine was older it failed to start a lot in the colder months. My dad used to tow me backwards up the long farm drive with my car in first, worked brilliantly, we also did it up the drive with the car in reverse lol!
Very very windy in Aberdeen, was raining earlier but it's stopped now.

Very mild and boring here, hope everyone else in Scotland is faring well?

  • i grew up in the highest village in scotland, the winters were long cold and lonely (and no central heating!!!) but then the summers were wonderful warm fun and everyone envied us when we could run for miles go fantastic bike rides play on the hills, make gang huts, and swim in the burns, i remember we used to bake some weird things in the winters to make corbohydrates, it was hard with no fresh eggs and milk.
we were always happy tho, and this life was great when you were a child. couldn't go back to it now though.
aw HC i would have loved to have brought you something back, good chance we will go back next year though, so will deffo let you know when. x

Thanks, considering going back myself next year, this time sis wants to come but she's got other ideas for hols next year (Russia) who knows, might do both.
