Have cooked a huge roast dinner - roast chicken, pigs-in-blankets, roast spuds, mash, carrots, cabbage, yorkies and gravy  Followed by ice cream. We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0

Great big hugs to Crazychik and anniestar
PennyPincher sorry you're feeling rough- I got your instant message and have sent you a text so you've got my number stored again.
Well, I seem to remember saying this morning that I hoped not to spend any money today
Well in the last three hours I've spent the best part of £75, mostly on "non essential items"
First was £56.70 on tickets for a few concerts later in the year. I do budget perfectly adequately for my music addiction, but the bookings seem to be getting earlier every year! The majority always used to come on sale around April/May, last year most seemed to have moved forward to February, and this year - well let's just say that today's booking was not the first I've made for next season. Two weeks ago I found myself booking for a concert in December 2008  I have a couple more things to book for tomorrow too  It could have been far worse though - there are 43 concerts in this particular series and only 3 which I decided I really really wanted to go to - AND I got a 10% discount
Then I stopped off on the way home to pick up a book I'd ordered from WH Smith (paid for already), popped into Superdrug and found something I'd been searching everywhere for - in fact the one item on my "ideas for what to get me for Christmas" list that neither my brother nor my sister managed to find - a PINK alarm clock/radio/CD player for my bedside table. TOTALLY not budgeted for but couldn't resist, it was down from £39.99 to £13.99 too!
Then went into Tesco for milk and orange juice, which I did need and which I would have bought tomorrow anyway, but added a large bar of choc to my basket too(oh the irony - the book I was collecting from Smiths was the You Are What You Eat cookbook
) - anyway at least it was moneysaving chocolate - Tesco ownbrand 59p for 200g.

((((hugs)))) to anniestar, crazychick, moggins, Penny pincher and any others feeling poorly or down,
Another expensive day in this household. Kitchen light is on the blink, hopefully not the electrics, just the fitting.(crosses fingers) Been to the dentist and need yet another filling and so on (£102.00!!!!) DH's bonus is now well and truly spent.
Running around like a nutter taking girls to brownies and guides whilst DH is at the Monday club for the disabled - we take it in turns to go. I don't know which is best - never seem to stop whichever I do!
Nothing OS today, even bought chippie chips for the girls after the dentist because of lack of time (i know, I know, I could've easily shoved something in the slow cooker!!).
Take care all - have a lovely evening BBxxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Good evening everyone,
I hope you are all nearly finishing jobs and sitting down for a well deserved rest and a glass of something fruity:rotfl: DS is in bed asleep, the WM is on, the DW is on and the table is ready for breakfast tomorrow. I should be making my packed lunch ready for the morning but I have decided to stop for an hour and do it later. Don't worry, I will do it, promise! Hugs to all who are having stresses and worries,

Good evening all
Hugs to anniestar and crazychick and anyone else feeling down/having worries.
Makes me feel rather guilty as all I have to worry about is not losing weight!
Got to Boots today and did a 6for1 plus loads of others, had a very good haul and loads of extra points too, no vouchers left at that branch now though.
Have a nice evening

Pollybear wrote:Not windy here, my washing is just sulking on the line again. At least it's out of my way for a few hours until I get to hang it all up again indoors.
:rotfl: :rotfl: I love this description! It's just what mine was doing today. Hanging limply, doing nothing. Was a tad drier when I brought it in, but I couldn't face it all over the airer again, so it went in the TD!
Having a mooch round here since I'm too stuffed to do the ironing:D Roast lamb, roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots, swede, broccoli and cabbage. At least the fridge is a little emptier;) And DH and DS3 did the washing up!:D And nobody could manage pudding, so we'll have that tomorrow.
Enjoy your evenings. Waking the Dead and mount ironmore are calling me!

Thought I had posted about an hour ago and not showing up!
Just wanted to say so sorry to those who are down, ill and having troubles. Glad to hear about those having good days. Welcome to new folk.
I am not good, having spent all afternoon sneezing and blowing. Maybe the arthritis pain at the weekend was a wee warning. Added to which I have been told I am working an hour plus next 2 Wednesdays - - I suppose OK with my time off in lieu but not feeling up to it.
This is one of my worst times of the year. I gave up someone precious 41 years ago 2 days ago and I still have a hard time coming to terms with it. DLB - this is what I pm'd you about!
DD now sounding better. DGS1 back to nursery today. We are having a wee money problem spending more than income now DH retired. We are not splashing out but one or two big buys put dent in budget and now having to take money out of savings. We have a bit put by but we have to be careful.. Probably in future can't run two cars plus a motor bike but I need my freedom with my own car! We will see how things pan out.
Twink - were you affected by memorial service your way today with DS and DIL in RAF. It was very emotional - I cried.
