I am still ok here, but would it be because I use a bookmarked link? I can get into it via the small business link too....
We have a record of item xxxxxGB as being delivered from Blackburn DO on 2011-11-11

    I can still get T&T Here: .royalmail.com/track-trace?gear=authentication
(insert the www - can't post links yet!)
  • Royal Mail have not issued a public explanation, but they have posted on Twitter...

Further, the latest I can find is a paragraph from 'The Register' - (See Below)

Parts of the website for the Royal Mail still aren't operational today, after the site reportedly went down over the weekend.
Using the website at the time of publication was very slow going, and Reg readers said that the Smartstamp service for printing postage was offline.
The website wasn't carrying any message for potentially peeved customers, but the Royal Mail's Twitter feed said:
We're working hard to resolve the technical issues we have with parts of the website at the moment. We'll update twitter with any new info.
The first mention of the problems on the feed is around three hours ago, however some readers said they had been experiencing website issues for the last 24 hours. (The Twitter profile is not updated over the weekend.)
The outage on Sunday and today's problems have apparently come after the website attempted to upgrade.
The Royal Mail had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.
  • Thanks, have just tried, still not working for me either. Will give it til this afternoon and then going to brave the Post Office too. I can imagine they are going to be super busy today now. Marvelous!!
  • Anyone wishing to price a parcel can use seajays postage calculator

You'll have to goggle it, as I'm still not grown up enough for links yet! :(

    Good Luck :)
  • Still not working and I am now behind, with 25 packages to send out - this is going to affect my feedback, how annoying!! I didn't have a car to get to the post office yesterday so I had no choice but to leave them

My local post office is horrible, it is one tiny counter and the women who run it are really rude, never say a single word, not even a thank you so I really begrudge giving them my money, not to mention all my money is locked into my paypal account

How can they allow such a vital system to be down for so long, its maddening!
My darling boy born December 2011

  • On the plus side, if you do have to make the trip to a Post Office to pay, you will - at least - be able to send stuff *second class recorded* - just one of a number of services not provided by Paypal.

My local CityLink have picked up three parcels from me that would have gone with Parcel Force. Initially they wanted more money than PM but when I promised to switch all of my larger parcels to them they price matched at £13.50 each. Can't say farer than that!

Naturally it's really irritating that Paypal and Royal Mail can't get their act together - this is the 21st Century for Christ sake. But more abhorant, in my view, is the lack of communication from Paypal & Royal Mail. Yes, we know it's very embarrassing for them both - especially at this time of year - but people are more tolerant when they are kept informed.
