You'll probably get a re-take. But it will be another week out of production. In total I think you can get 3-4 re-takes if your scores improve.
Thanks. Am assuming the queries will be completely different?!
Pretty annoying that it means a whole other week out, but guess I'll just have to try to make the most of the time off.. Easier said than done when I know I could well just fail it AGAIN, though.
Are you another FN person, BTW? I assumed all the WSE's posting here were, but now realise I could be wrong.. There were also a few people doing some kind of spelling/transcription role a load of pages back, but they now seem to have disappeared (I think). Always wondered what that was about, as it sounded more the kind of thing I'd be good at. Not sure whether you can apply for it after being fired from FN though.. Or if it even exists any more..
You should certainly get another chance to sit the test again next week, I've always been offered a second chance at it.
The individual category off-by scoring system infuriates me...
Tried to take your advice, making notes of all the categories and how many I'd got right. Wasn't that much of a help though as I was basically doing badly in most of them, so all that it really told me was that I'd failed before I'd even finished taking the test. I did know to give a certain answer on the very last question though, even though I kind of disagreed with it!0 -

Santander say that they do not charge for international payments, but any intermediaries might. Are you sure that there are no charges? as maybe the poor rate might be a charge by an intermediary, just a thought.
Always wondered about this. Exchange rate for February from HSBC was 1.6762000. So hard to compare exactly, but seems more or less the same. Always got the feeling I was getting a particularly low rate, but maybe it's just a "average" one after all..0 -

First time I've checked the actual form Santander produce when I get a currency payment.
Yes it appears there is an intermediary charge, which I hadn't realised before, which was $6.50. The exchange rate applied was $1.69 = £1 - so actually on reflection, maybe it isn't actually all that bad and I've been blaming Santander for the general decline in the exchange rate!0 -

Hi, This is really helpful. Many thanks. Calculated your exchange rate on my pay and it works out about the same as what I am getting with RBS. No need to change. Always wondered about them being fee free, thought it was too good to be true.0 -
Those are seperate contracts and as such, you can apply for them AND work for them at the same time as FN/Web5 if work is available. But I have reason to believe those particular jobs are few and far between. To confirm, you CAN continue to work for Appen after being fired from FN, you just can't re-apply for a FN or Web5 related job. This is a rule that differs slightly from, say, Leapforce, where after a given time period you can re-apply for WSE - With Appen you only get one shot (per lifetime :P)
Oh, OK. Just logged back into the qualification site, and the "Spelling test" is still there for the UK. Not great if there isn't actually much work available, but will probably still take it if I get fired to see what it's all about. Trying to do that in conjunction with the normal crowdsourcing will at least be better than nothing.
And a shame we only get one chance with WSE/FN when it seems there's a different rule for the US market, at least (according to another forum)..0 -
hello, i have 2 hitapps in my account with like 200 hits, but i cant open them it says
"there are no hits available. it could be all hits are leased out. please try again later"
does this mean im blocked in opening these hitapps?
btw, 1 hitapp has "qualification" button , but im still receiving same error0 -
Sigh.. Forgot what a nightmare the crowdsourcing is. Failed the two qualification tests for one task which seemed relatively easy. So that was about half an hour wasted. Then had a go at one of the speech tasks, only to find that over another half hour (or more?!) I had earned about 60 cents. Can't even be bothered to try with the map-related one that's currently on there, as I have distant memories of those being particularly impossible to get right. All in all, I think you're better off just doing survey sites instead, as long as you're signed up with enough of them..
HOWEVER, I did pass the spelling test earlier today. Only the contract then said something about 10 hours per week, so I don't want to accept it only to find myself immediately expected to do a whole load of work, when I MAY still get returned to FN production at some point in the near future..test994125 wrote: »hello, i have 2 hitapps in my account with like 200 hits, but i cant open them it says

Think that means there are tasks available, just not for you. Because each worker only gets allocated a certain quota. (Or something.. )0 -

Ow, metrics are pretty red across the board today.HOWEVER, I did pass the spelling test earlier today. You can do both. I think I still have an active crowdsourcing contract, but I haven't done any hitapps for months and still can access it. I guess they are a little more forgiving.btw, i already reached the minimum payment for butler hill which is $50, how am i going to get the payment now?
If you check the crowdsourcing portal it should have a list of invoice and payout dates. It will be paid into your Paypal account.0
