Congratulations on securing a new jobI'm really pleased for you. I also hope your second try with LF goes well.
As far as working from home goes, you're absolutely right. We're very much disposable assets...0 -

Expect I'll be re-applying yet again with LF as soon as I'm let go. Am desperately hoping that with a new email address and ticking "No" to the "Have you applied previously..?" question, I may just be able to sneak my way back in and get a chance to take the exam.. (:D) Only problem is they now seem to be demanding that applicants have a smartphone, which of course I don't have. So really not sure whether to try to get hold of one now, or wait a while a while longer, or what.. Assume I'd struggle to get a contract seeing as I'm not in full time work, but then if I got one on PAYG surely it would cost a fortune to do the tasks?!
Then there's also the fact that some ex-LB workers got emailed a few months back offering them the chance to reapply as rules had apparently just changed or something.. Haven't had one myself yet, but then I'm just coming up to my "one year" mark in the next week or so. A possible other opportunity though?!
Congratulations on the new job, anyway!I honestly wouldn't even know where to start with getting anything in the "real world" TBH!

If you intend to do both or not, It's not something you should declare on an internet forum.0

Is that directed at me?!
Assume it is, and you mean the email and "applied previously" thing.. Well, I don't see how there's anything wrong with having more one email address. And as for previous applications, I've learnt from experience that if you DO tick that box, they automatically ignore your application/throw it in the bin. Even if the only reason your original application didn't result in an actual chance to take the exam was due to a technical problem at THEIR end. Which they then lied to ME about.
Doubt LF representatives are reading this thread anyway, and even if they are, would they really bother making notes about something that may/may not happen in the future?
Although to be honest, I seriously doubt my "plan" actually has much chance of working, hence why I feel free to tell people on here.0 -
To be fair, I wouldn't tick the box to admit I'd worked for other companies or applied before either, because I just think it'd sabotage any application... work is hard enough to find without undermining your chances at the first stage...0

Hi Mailrat. I read your posts about not getting a chance to complete the exam with LF due to technical errors. That was very unfair. You SHOULD be able to get another chance with them (if ever you needed to that is)0

You don't need a smartphone for LF, it does state it in the requirements, but they can only use it if you have a certain version etc, so you should be fine Mallrat. How do I know this? - erm well, I can't really say but I might well be concentrating on 'other' work from now on, providing there's still something there0

Arghhh, don't you just hate those non-perfect audits? One button was missing and you take a big priority hit. :mad:0

Thanks! Saw someone on the LF thread ask about this a while ago, but they didn't get any response. Good to know you don't necessarily need one anyway.0
