Anyone else had Internet Explorer update to version 11 this morning and now unable to work?
Just submitted a ticket, but was wondering if anyone here has any advice as I expect it'll take them a while to get back to me...
SO stressed out! :wall:
Well, while perusing The Other Forum I discovered that apparently this has been a problem for a while now, as someone there was saying that many have been without work for 3 weeks due to being unable to revert back to IE 10 - these people being those running Windows 8.1, if I remember correctly.
Anyway, I followed instructions to get back to IE 10, only when I tried to log in I was then getting a "This page cannot be displayed" message, and wasn't entirely sure what to do about this. So in the end I was forced to do a system restore, and everything is now back to normal.
The moral of this story is DO NOT update to IE 11 when it asks you to do so. Very annoying to lose over an hour of work time, and just a shame ABH couldn't be bothered to drop us all an email letting us know..0 -
Sounds like a nightmare. Think I might have been tempted to chuck my laptop out of the window after a while..
Thank you for the warning though - very appreciated. As you say, wouldn't have hurt Appen to do so.
Is anyone else unable to judge right now - it shows I have a set of 2 queries to judge, I judge the first page, but then the query changes, and when I try and rate the second page it tells me to finish rating the first query first.....
If only we got a £5 bonus for every technical error. We'd be rich by now!0 -

Mmm.. That's exactly what was happening to me yesterday after I installed IE 11. It then went back to normal after I did the system restore. So might be worth checking it hasn't updated without you realising?!0 -
Oh gosh.
Windows did apply an update this morning.
I might just go sit in a corner and cry!0 -
Managed to roll-back the update.
No warning from Microsoft that the update was to IE11.
If this happens to anyone else, follow these steps:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/how-do-i-install-or-uninstall-internet-explorer-9
They are for IE9, but work for IE11 as well.
Very annoying, but THANK YOU to MallRat, because otherwise I'd have been sitting all afternoon filling out support tickets!0 -

Glad I could help.
Suppose I should actually start doing some work at some point though... :whistle:0 -
Indeed!
Not really in the mood for it today to be honest, and since I've started late courtesy of Windows Updates, I won't finish until the early evening.
Wish the 20 hours was more flexible...0 -

hi people, just a quick introduction. i'm new here and busy going through the qualification process for WSE.
passed the 50 question question bank last week! phew that was super stressful i actually took about 5 hours to complete it!
I was over joyed and looking forward to starting production, but nope, they seem to have introduced another section before production!.
you have to complete 20 hour practice section and achieve a curtain amount per hour and of course you have to pass the criteria before going into full production! i think they might of done this to get you used to production so they don't keep pulling you!
i don't know what happens if i don't meet this criteria. scary i need this so bad!
anyhoo, im 5 hours into my 20 hours and about to do another 4 today. should know by next week if i will be joining you guys! fingers crossed.
on the IE11 subject.
i have widows 8.1 and can only run 11. it does work, just probably different to the way your used to. As it's all ive ever used it seems normal to me.
I'm glad ive found some "colleagues" gonna make it so much easier! lol0 -
Oh gosh I don't like the sound of the new qualification system, but I assume they have to remunerate you for the 20 hours in production.
Still, it'd be quite disheartening to spend the 20 hours in production, and then not be allowed to proceed further. Funnily enough, when I took qualification they didn't seem to bother about RPH.
Best of luck though, and I hope you make it into production proper0
