Can any of you lovely people help me? My nan mentioned today that she wants a counter top oven/grill machine so she doesn't need to put the oven on. Any suggestions of what ones are good, and not too expensive? She is partially blind so I don't think one with the hob bit on the top would be suitable.
Cheers

One of those Halogen ovens, Flutterby? Or a remoska? I dont know how heavy / fiddly they will be for her to open, is she ok with lifting and manipulating things? It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

She wouldn't be able to lift it, or do much fiddly stuff. Needs to have simple dials that we can fit the bump-it things to so she knows where on/off is etc.
I think she wants an old fashioned one as opposed to the halogen or remoska types. She had one many years ago ade by Tefal, and it looked a bit like a microwave apparently. But she does not want a microwave combo oven thingy!

Something like this? There a few more on the right hand side of the page.
In fact, this one has the big heavy turn knobs on it.

Evening ladies, again just a quick update about my niece. She has caught an infection :(. Before that though the physios had her up on her feet for a few seconds:). So major setback at the mo. Have spent the last few nights at home but am back at the hospital tonight and tomorrow night so my sister can sleep as she wont leave her with anyone else, even our other sisters. So she is back on high dependancy ward for the next few days. Looks like Christmas could well be at the Hospital .
Hope everything is well for you all . Will be back soon:)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
