Has anyone bought sofas from Argos?

I hope both mattarmy and CharleneUK have the same experience with this sofa as I have.
I purchased a pair of sofas a year or two ago and have had no problems at all. Delivery was fine, no quality issues with the delivered sofa and (touch wood) I have had no problems since although I do get a bit worried when I find the children have been trampolining on it! :j
Tell me about it!! Thank heavens I'm getting mine replaced in the next few weeks and by then, the novelty should have worn off! :rotfl:"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
In 2002, we purchased a 3 seater and a 2 seater from Argos with the money we got for our wedding.
It took 9 weeks to deliver. They didnt last 12 months.
The quality was poor and their customer service even worse.
We then purchased a new sofa from DFS (a store you can actually try before you buy) and we still have it!!!!
Each to their own, but I would NEVER buy a sofa again from Argos.0 -
One bit of advice that could prove useful.
Some homebase's have furniture departments so you can try the sofas. With argos and homebase sharing many items its possible to try before you buy, and even to see which have the better offers.
I did this up at team valley retail park - very happy with the sofas so far, good for the money.0 -

Hi.
I bought the Danubio bed settee & armchair 2 months ago. I wouldn't class them as 'cheap', but neither are they the most expensive range out there.

The suite has had a catalogue of problems, ranging from a ripped zip to fraying threads to sagging & creaking.
I had Argos' upholsterer out last week, who couldn't believe the suite was only 2 months old.
Argos agreed to a repair, replacement or refund. I've tentatively accepted a replacement (for the sheer ease of it), but I'm dubious as to the quality I should expect.
Here's the new set I've ordered:

Fingers crossed this set is worth the £900!"...Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,

I bought two Plus 3 recliners which were delivered by Argos but bought from Homebase......The one had been dropped and was smashed along bottom edge....all I was offered was 10%........laughable....and since the item was out of stock .....they give me no option ....I'm going to send the lot back after 29 and 1/2 days use since as they treated me so badly!0
