I just purchased a large sofa and got a regular (2 seater) sofa free - should have been 'up to' 35 days delivery and got contacted over Easter to say they can deliver it next week.... :T
What a bargain - and what service..

Used the offer to spend £100 get £10 voucher to buy vouchers and then paid for the sofa with vouchers - saved a further £35 with that one 2...!!

Yes I purchased a sofa/ bed settee from Argos.

The delivery men would not do as we asked (feed it through our enormous front room window) and insisted on taking it around the back of the house and try and get it through our windy corridor.......

......they tried, ripped our wallpaper in the process and then had to do as we told them and take it BACK through the windy corridor, out and around the front to the enormous window.

    Hmmm

  • i bought a yellow sofa few years back from Argos, when it turned up i noticed it had a BIG dirt mark on the back, so i phoned up CS to get a replacement. DELIVERY MEN picked it up, and i actually heard one moaning to the other that I could have just washed the covers! (they should have got a job in customer services instead) when i have paid £400 for a sofa why should I? especially when the stain might not come out.
anyway the replacement YELLOW sofa turned up and the dye was so bad half of it looked tangerine. so had to send that back and get yet another.
the third ones colour was not great either but at least it did not have orange patches! but i will say the general quality of the cushions, frame etc was not good. zips broke on cushions after a year.did not last long and in the end chucked it out and got a leather sofa from Ikea, which has been great.
my friend bought sofas off Argos too and also had problems.

I have brought the calabria sofa, luckily its all in different sections as we have had 3 bits with something wrong, would of been waiting 10wks for one bit to be changed, rang them up and told them to come and collect it all on friday, so don't know what to do now, sofa fits perfect in the space, looks fantastic in my front room, but I think the quality is ok, but haven't found another one I like, or a perfect fit.

    What would you do??

I hope both mattarmy and CharleneUK have the same experience with this sofa as I have.

I purchased a pair of sofas a year or two ago and have had no problems at all. Delivery was fine, no quality issues with the delivered sofa and (touch wood) I have had no problems since although I do get a bit worried when I find the children have been trampolining on it! :j

received my alonza corner group 14th August. went on holiday 18th came back on 25th and the right hand side is now creaking! Going to phone Argos later. Do you think they will replace/repair it? It's not normal is it for a new sofa to creak loudly upon sitting/ getting off it? I feel like I sound petty but it really is loud and wouldn't have paid £800 for a creaking sofa!!!
