I'm keeping an eye on a 4-seater and the prices are quite goods, methinks...
Wondering about quality and CS though...
I think sofasofa is somehow connected to https://www.oakridgedirect.co.uk
which is where i got my settees from. I got a two and three seater called Madrid which is still on there for a total of 449.00 i then paid about 80 for the special treatment which gives a five year guarantee on staining from all sorts of stuff. Like oil, ink, pens, etc etc. The link is here. http://www.oakridgedirect.co.uk/index.cfm?flash=1[/URL
I cant remember everything about the ordering and delivery of it but i do remember thinking i was very impressed and would have no hesitations in recommending them and using them again. I still have the settees and they are now about 7 years old. I have 2 cats and a dog and at the time of getting them 2 children aged 9 and 11 who jump up and down as they like (dog and cats that is not kids). They have lasted very well indeed, through multiple washings (at 40 oC) and would last a lot longer but where we have stood on it quite a bit over time (arms and seating, i know we shouldnt) putting trimmings at xmas up etc a couple of springs have gone in the seat. So what i have done is just put a bit of ply underneath (true MSE style) instead of replacing it.
All the frames are of the better screwed and glued quality. So if theres a design you actually like i would have no hesitations in ordering from them.0 -
If its the colour or material of the sofa you're worried about, Argos have a free Swatch service; were they'll send you a sample of the material on a sofa.

alot of pointers but to add..
go pick up the new home catalogue from an argos with better photographs etc of sofas and furniture in general.
swatches thing has been mentioned so i wont say much there.
re homebase, good idea to check instore for styles you like and look online
but reason most are on HBs/argos sites pretty much cos argos product
HB dont have a decent one of there own.
You get what you pay for in sone respects so a cheap sofa wont last, although a decent price argos one will be good value and better quality.
i have a nice leather sofa from argos and its great and looks the business
best of luck0 -
If you are near Wales, there is a company called Deeside furniture in Holywell, north Wales, who I think make furniture for Marks and Spencer. They have a massive warehouse factory shop which sells the same settees at about half-price of M and S. (They are not seconds, though they do have a few damaged bits and pieces). For example, last time we were there they had the Abbey large settee in brown leather for £680. This does not include delivery and I don't think they do mail order. I know this is more than you probably wanted to spend but it might help someone else.
Also, for those of us in the north west, West One retail park in Eccles, Manchester has a Next Clearance shop which usually has a few half price Next settees. Habitat has a furniture Clearance section at the back of it's Wythenshawe store too (though this usually has totally ruined, grotty stuff with £1.50 off).
My friend got two settees from SofaSofa and is reasonably happy with them. They look smart, though it is one of those styles where only some panels are real leather.0 -
I have had an Argos fabric sofa set B1G1F for about a year. Very comfortable and would recommend for something affordable yet practical. Mine has memory foam type seats and lovely squasy back cushions that overlap and it looks very nice in the conservatory
If you want a top quality sofa i would wait for the Multiyork sale as they are the best i have ever bought0 -
i bought a reclining sofa and chair from argos 7 months down the line its started coming away at the arm rests argos said it was wair and tare so i would not advise anybody to buy sofas from argos specialy leather ones0

I did, had to threaten them with court action to get it swapped. Almost put me off argos for life. In fact I didnt shop with them for about 3 years after I had bought it.0

I have been very impressed with the quality for the price and delivery was really hassel free (suprised!).Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I have got two Argos sofa's and I think they're fab, they're chocolate leather and were in one of the half price deals but I still think they are lovely.
To be honest, in my local Argos (Cardiff Bay) you can go and sit on them all and try them out - maybe one of yours does?
Just to add, when me and OH were there, we sat on the big sinky fabric ones and we thought they were to die for!! Really really comfy and lovely and big.
Of course there's no saying how long they would last but still very nice!0 -
I bought a large tan leather sofa in their sale a few weeks ago for £199. It's stylish and very comfortable and my best buy so far this year! Absolute bargain, and it looks and feels a lot more expensive than it actually is. Perfect for my needs and pocket. I have previous experience of their sofas (all leather) and they have never fallen apart or lost their shape, but I think the style (shape), type of leather and useage all make a difference. I did post about the £199 sofas, and I think I included a photo.OGB - Queen of Bling baby...:A0
