I have not been offered this account either, I have 3 esave accounts, one with nowt in it and dormant, one with one penny in interest and the 3rd with a decent balance.

Why don't they just make all their accounts available to all customers including those who have been loyal, it would make things simpler for everyone inc perhaps themselves!

I agree! This has made me so angry! I have been a loyal customer to Natwest and in February my interest rate will go back to 1% while others with next to nothing in their account have been offered a rate of 3.12%. I think this is morally wrong, it should be offered to everybody, not a select few. I will be moving my 30k from Natwest as of February if it is still not available to me.
This offer has also not been offered to any of my family members or my partner. We all have a fair amount with Natwest, and each have several accounts with them.

Applied Thursday afternoon for this eSaver account, up until now never did get an email confirmation that the account is open.
Today (Sat) logged into my Natwest current account and a message popped up saying my new eSaver account has now been added to my Natwest online banking.
Made a £1 test payment from Natwest current account to eSaver, and its all working OK.

Application form to check, sign and return arrived this morning.

Ditto that. Completed and popped back in the post this afternoon.

Seems like a curious affair with some being offered, some not, some getting instant opening, some not, some getting pre-filled forms, some not...

I doubt they'll have done themselves much good by not offering the account to all existing customers, particularly if those who are already saving with them now take their business and their cash elsewhere.

I am lucky to have received the offer at a time when I was already considering opening a savings account - it was easily enough to sway me away from choosing another bank. But I think I am still living under the misguided impression that loyalty is worth something.

I have a existing e.saver account, and i have never had any offers.I did inherit a sum of £40,000,and i moved it into that account. When i called to ask the question the reply was negative, and no offer. My wife also as a Nat West account, and she got the offer.Needless to say i have now transfered the money out of the Nat West and into Northern Rock ooppppssss Virign Money.I have to say this selective offer stuff does p##s me off.

Well this is my way of dealing with it,maybe if more followed, then they would not do it.

Logged in today and the account had appeared, moved the cash from my normal natwest account fine.
  • A couple of phone calls to Natwest later and despite them promising to call me back tomorrow I'm pretty sure it is to say, look you really are not getting this!

As with others on this thread, I've been told that because I had my bonus on the old esaver extended (by a year) and I have an active esaver account anyway I am not eligible.

I tried "well if I can't open a new esaver issue then I really end up with an inactive esaver account, so why can't I have a new one?" which seems to have got me another callback, but I'm not optimistic :-)

I suspect that it is going to be a rerun of last year. Wonderful offer was announced in the second half of a month. Paperwork was sent by snail mail that has to be signed and returned and that was not actioned until the beginning of the following month. As the bonus did not kick in until the 15th of the month following the opening of the account a few days delay at the start meant a month delay for the bonus.

Despite the time-wasting paperwork the account has been opened today. However, the £1 internal transfer that I requested to open the account has not been made (at least not yet shown online). I have performed an internal transfer myself to ensure that there can be no question that the e-Savings account was opened and funded in November.

This is a link to the account. By the sound of it, if you have an esavings account already you are not eligible?

Applied online yesterday, around 1pm (already go an ISA with them). Got confirmation of new account number immediately.

Logged on this morning - new account displayed.

Moved some (test) money in around midday.

    Sorted.

    Problems, what problems?

Well done to you, I applied and have heard nothing by email or post!
